I'm off there in three weeks time for three nights, this has been planned for a while. Three other trips abroad this year have been cancelled but this one remains...so far. Has anyone been and what are the chances of this trip being cancelled? <laugh>

I live in Wroclaw (3 hours west) and would recommend a beer in the "Wawel" castle complex and a walk around the jewish quarter. Not far is Wieliczka salt mine - amazing and imo the best tourist attraction in Poland. Try to book the earliest tour to avoid the crowds. If you fancy some mountains, Zakopane is 2 hours by bus. All the side streets off the main market square are beautiful also.

I'll probably go next year. This information is of no use to you unless you can source me a time machine

You've been given some great recommendations here, that I wholeheartedly support. The main square is absolutely stunning too - blew me away when I saw it.

The House of Beer has a great collection of local beers, and those from surrounding European countries.

I spent a fair bit of time in Poland and like the place. Krakow, Kielce, Radom Warsaw and Tchcy. Very underrated place, food is canny as well.

What can I say, other than I haven't been.
Your nephew's been though and thought it was cracking.
It would appear that I'm just the poor relations in this outfit.
He went to Auchswitz, somewhere he won't forget in a hurry.

<cheers> But how many times have you been to Benidorm?
