Townsend is developing well, as is Livermore. The EL has so far been a great way to give some of our youngsters and fringe players more game time. I think Walker is going to be a seriously good player as well. Dos Santos looked like he cared for pretty much the first time ever as well, which was nice.
GDS was good(just wish he could use his right peg),Townsend seemed to make the difference in the 2nd half, showed alot of pace.Pav actually seemed to try,but overall i think as PNP said the last pass was missing. You could see that they hadn't played together much.Well a win is a win and the youngsters getting good experience.Oh and welcome to the board KGK.
dos Santos was outstanding. As opposed to PAOK, I think the other players realized he needs space, as what he usually likes to do is dribble a bit and create opportunities. Pav was really and truly awful at first--I think I counted him giving the ball away 3 times in a minute or so at one point. But he got the finish we needed, and I had the sense that this took a weight off his shoulders, that it'll be the start of him playing much better. Defoe and Townsend were also very good. Someone pointed out on another thread that Defoe already has topped his last season's assist total. It's interesting. I'm not sure how well dos Santos fits into any team that plays one touch football. But he's one of the few players who can create opportunities out of nothing, and might be an excellent choice against negative teams for his creativity. I was also impressed by his work rate. I like the way the team is making sense this year. Players who weren't used were mostly sold, and players who aren't in the first team have an important job to do.
