He has an abundance of experience at huge clubs and has therefore won a fair few trophies but he has been sacked in almost every job he has had.

The majority of his clubs have been the biggest spenders in their respective leagues and been playing in the champions league - I don't really see how he is the right fit for Everton.

Apart from his spell at Milan, in which he was very successful, he has been sacked by pretty much every club he has been at Parma, Juve, Chelsea, Madrid, Bayern & Napoli.

He is a good manager if you have a huge budget and are one of the best clubs in your league, but is he the right man to take an under performing club and turn them around? I have my doubts.

Agree - great manager for sure. Can he steer Everton - the most mediocre club of its generation - anywhere outside their standard course? I doubt it. Can you imagine what a drop in quality he's dealing with here - he is used to the top table, as are the players he's buying. No one there is hungry to prove anything - the best you can hope for is one of the younger players ups their game to get a transfer. No one raises their game at Everton. I'd say mid-table is about right - even if they start strong.

No chance. Potter is a good manager. Lallana on a free, the Ajax CB, and White. In return for Duffy (who was already phased out under potter) and Murray out... That is some solid strengthening in reality. Brighton will get 15th-13th sort of position without too much sweat i think.

True, but their issue has always been scoring goals. I think they'll be fine too, if not spectacular, under Potter, though.

Looks likely he’s not moving on.

Seems he was pretty close to leaving then and it wasn't just rumours.

Didn't realise he is 28 either - would be good to move him on soon as he is an expensive and error prone 4th choice CB.

After losing the £9m/season from the chinese tv money I am starting to think our business is over. Unless we manage to finally get a small fee for Hoedt or Carrillo.

That's an exceptional gamble on a player who has one senior goal, but he's one of the best-regarded young players in Europe.

Completely agree. I'm no huge fan of him, and I think its unlikely he'll get a bigger role, but he does have a decent attitude and willing to fight for his place and the cause. Unlike others I can think of. Hoedt for starters.
And he is right when he says they all had playing time post lockdown. Personally I think he still improving. Glad he's staying.

Don't see it myself, think he's slow and prone to lapses of concentration at PL level. He's like a tall Jos Hooiveld - although with a better range of passing.
