Where do you all think it ranks? Yes it was the losing kit for the playoffs, some would say it was ugly, but for me it marks the start of a great time in our history. We haven't won cups etc, but once the 98 season was finished we came back, smashed the old first Division wearing Blue away, then several great years in the Premiership. The 98 play defeat was a kick up the backside that started the Reid era. That day we wore gold, it had Lamptons on the front. IMO a classic Sunderland away kit.

I love it. I've still got mine. I collect shirts (particularly 80s and 90s ones, not just ours) and its still one of my favourites. The colour, the design, the sponsor- its a classic.

They were great shirts for us fans but the players didn’t like them - especially the yellow one. It would absorb water when it rained.

We used to use the gold top for our 7 a-side league at temple park back in the day glorious times.
I had QUINN 9 on the back of mine. Got it done in Birthdays in the town. Mid teens and 6 foot (grew a bit more) but felt fitting to have the big mans name on my back.

Just copying me. I’d had Lambtons on the front of some of my tops ages before that man!

On the subject of Kits, The England strip has a 1998 vibe about it.

Like a 1998 2000 mash up.

Still got both. Wore them for the Wembley finals last season hoping they would give us some luck.

This is Sunny.
One of the kittens born this year.
I had to keep him, he's my good luck Sunderland Black Cat.
