Went well last time we played them...


Saying that, that defeat might've been one of the best things that could've happened, as it got rid of a lot of deadwood from the side.
 
five shots in a whole half against iceland. england go to pieces without marauding central defender.
 
HT 0-0. England look decent in possession but haven't really threatened. Iceland done very well to keep things shut at the back.

Think someone like Grealish or Greenwood should come on, something a bit different in the second half. I don't think he should be there, but... maybe bring Phillips on. Bit of bite in midfield.
 
I know why it is but even so it still looks weird every Iceland player including subs having a surname ending in ...son.
 
azerbaijan had a player sent off in the first half but scored soon after. they're now losing 1-2 and luxemburg are in danger of actually winning a football match.


a bit of investigation reveals that they do actually win now and then.
 
Greenwood should've come on 20 minutes ago.

Iceland doing what they're best at, don't blame them. We've not played badly, just not been able to break them down.
