FSG are taking zero risks, we can spend if we sell. Otherwise we are riding out the storm. Maybe we come out in a better position in a years time, or our lack of investment now ultimately hinders our income
We've been lucky really with Mane and Mo but lose one of them and we really will struggle to find goals,Origi certainly isn't the answer. We definitely need to do some business in the transfer market and although we seem to have plenty of midfielders we've often seen certain combinations not working.
I like the cautious approach. We're still in unprecedented times and I wouldn't feel comfortable throwing money around like some clubs are. I don't believe that FSG will rest on their laurels. They are owners of multiple sports clubs and know about investing in order to maintain the position at the top. Why would they follow one philosophy with their other assets and a different one with us?
BREAKING NEWS: Following meetings with the club, lawyers, Messi and his representatives it transpires that Messi can leave for free.

At what point will he get embarrassed by the "but my dad says I can do what I want, im his special little soldier" Only a wonder his mums not waded in telling him to be a good boy
When I wrote that post I was watching a live link to the place where the proceedings were being held. A statement had just been read in Spanish and English with the exact wording from the contract confirming that Messi can leave for free. I'm still of the opinion that he's going nowhere. It's a power play.
probably down to the number of players who count as "home grown" limiting the number of non home grown we can have in the PL squad .
They don’t want to go to court as they know they’re wrong and they’ll lose, not complicated really. So they’ve batted the ball back to Barca by saying he’ll begrudgingly stay. I doubt that’s what Barca and Koeman want tbh, he could still leave this summer for a fee of some sort imo. This’ll rumble on for a while yet.
Yeah, squad numbers. Wilson, Grujic, maybe Shaq to go?....something has to happen. I think Gini will stay. I don't think anything was going to happen with Thiago until the CL was done so its been 2 weeks?...or 3 maybe? Like you say, lots of rumours this way and that. Lets wait for something concrete, I'm not sweating on our situation at all.
It's a 17/8 split between 'home grown' (8) and the rest..............Karius is another that we could offload but he would presumably be replaced by a keeper
Be interesting to see if Suarez to Juve goes ahead. It was reported that one of Messi's stipulations for staying was that Suarez stayed too.
He's agreed terms with Juve apparently and Koema has basically told him to go. Frankly Messi's power in the situation has fallen, he's said in the past he wants to leave when his contract runs out next summer, so I doubt Barca can do anything to make him stay beyond that. So Barca can bend to Messi all they want, but in the end he could still end up leaving, so will they really care about his petty demands. Barca may want him to stay, for this year at least, but when he's 34 is it worth it, think of all the money they'll save when he goes
I think Barcelona care very much what he thinks and wants. Add fan power to the mix and you never know. The fans are the reason Coutinho wasn't accepted.
