Jurgen Klopp is set to put the block on Rhian Brewster being loaned out by Liverpool in the first half of the new season, Football Insider can reveal. The Merseyside giants’ boss revealed last week he was undecided about whether to loan out the striker sensation, 20, following his impressive spell at Swansea City in the second half of last season
I've read that he is considering moving to that club across the East Lancs Rd. Is he seriously considering dumping us for them? May be we should just forget about him if he could be a potential mercenary.
Since his arrival from Newcastle in 2016, he has played more minutes than any other Liverpool player except Roberto Firmino and it is no coincidence. During that time-frame, Liverpool's win rate in all competitions drops from 77 per cent to 54 per cent in games he does not start. Wijnaldum's contribution on the pitch can be difficult to measure.
So looks like Brewster is sticking around until at least January. Happy with that, hopefully he gets a few opportunities to shine.
We will see. He’s not a firminho type and is not a winger so we would have to adapt how we play to accommodate him.
He's the perfect option to come off the bench if we desperately need a goal, and we can just flood the box. Will be interesting to see how he would play if he was starting. Not seen enough yet to determine if his build up play is any good but he would need to work on it if he wants a starting role (or we change our system to suit him).
People are expecting way too much of Brewster. He is a decent kid who will loaned out again and inevitable be sold in the coming years.
Do you think this is happening? Seems to be dragging on a bit too much to me. A long drawn-out courtship rarely turns out well in football - I think that it's either a done deal and there are technicalities delaying an announcement, or it's all just talk and we're not serious. And never were.
Maybe its only the media dragging it out? It is a fact that we need to offload to make room for an incoming Thiago.
I mean we clearly are in for him (as in we are interested in him), however whether he comes or a deal can be reached is a different matter
Is it a fact? Do you mean financially or because of squad congestion? If it's money, why are we worse off than others at the top? We've been run with a sound financial strategy since FSG took over. As for the media dragging it out - no doubt they go on about it, but the time it's taking is a simple fact, and their input is irrelevant to that. I hear plenty of reports that we've made no official contact, and as many others contradicting them. I don't believe anything until there is hard evidence and not just speculation based on hopes and/or fears.
