If they are here illegally then it is.

Well yes that’s kind of a given if the word “illegally” is in the sentence.

But they can seek asylum in any country according to international law. There is an EU law (the Dublin treaty or something like that) that means they can be transferred back to the first EU country they arrived in if that can be proven. Being an island between France and Ireland we are in a rather convenient position on that one if you’re viewing these people as a negative.

From what I understand all illegals/migrants/refugees/asylum seekers are the responsibility of the County they land in. So Kent. The only way they can be moved is if other counties volunteer help. I'm not sure if that applies to minors, adults or both, that rule.

A couple of weeks ago some were put in an hotel here in Essex.

Then someone realised it was Priti Patel's constituency <doh> and they were swiftly moved on <laugh>

Well hopefully she will get her arse in gear, and ensure that all counties are responsible for helping, including her own!

Just thought it was ironic that she's giving it large about stopping them and they end up on her doorstep :biggrin:

But you didn't demonstrate concern, you just randomly stated the following;

'Criminals?......Should be put in prison.Situation is crazy.'

None of my links referred to any 'criminals,' but child refugees.
I wasn't talking about children.......Kent can't cope with this as you well know.

There is a difference as I 'well know', between a County claiming it can't cope (on it's own) and blanket marking people as criminals. I've absolutely no idea if anyone has been proven or classed as a criminal, other than your crass remark on here.

The problem is her arse is in Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

This is what needs to be looked at, the kids are crossing those three counties to get to Norfolk (as per my earlier article). Maybe those three counties need to be held to account, IF they have not volunteered resources.

Can't cope with what? A handful of desperate people arriving by boat?

He didn't specify what he meant. However, KCC were struggling with the number of minors, we have to remember they require an entirely different type of care and resources compared to an adult. An adult you can more or less stick into a hotel - with children, I expect as per my much earlier link some may require the availability of foster carers and/or the probability of additional needs. KCC cannot just force them onto another county, as the rules stand, other counties is a voluntary basis only. We need to change it to mandatory - especially as we had 400 cross the other day (KCC said they couldn't cope, before those arrivals), I don't know the percentage of children amoung them.

Tbf Norfolk are only taking ones with a surplus of fingers.

Bit discriminatory imo.
