Who can forget Roberto Carlos I never paid much attention to Ashley Cole’s football tbh...I was too busy hating the Chavvy Goon kaaant
It's obviously a matter of personal opinion but in my view he was one of the few England players in my lifetime that was as good in his position as anybody in the world at that time ... European Giants? ... who did Gerrard join or Lampard. Beckham was passed his best when he joined Real. Ashley Cole had a very successful career and it could be argued that he never needed to join a 'European giant' ... he's won titles, cups and a Champions League ... Plus, and no disrespect meant, I'm not entirely sure that having to learn foreign languages and adapt to a different cultures would have been as easy for Ashley as some others ...
Not sure if Cole was the best RB/LB but was certainly credited for being good at playing at home and away.
A little mention for John Arne Risse he wasnt a great FB but I liked the way he used that left foot of his One of my favourite fullbacks to watch when he was on it.
Beckham was 28 when he joined Real, no? Gerrard World Class? No mate. You think Cole would have turned down a move to one of the massive glamour clubs? No so sure like......I mean he defo loved a bit of cash......
#respeck Was reminding @Tel the other day about when Alan Smith snapped his leg blocking a riise special.
