That's a very fair point. Ok it is below those. They're still pointless though (in my opinion), in place for the show of it and to generate a bit of cash and exposure. Of the 3 the Charity shield is the least harmful as it's pretty much a pre-season friendly, the others interfere with proper games in the season that actually matter (hence you guys getting knocked out of the FA cup). I mean even Danny Welbeck won a Club World Championship medal and a Premier League but it's the latter that really counts for something.
Well even Newcastle have played in the Charity shield in my lifetime so...
ps. We'd have had a parade if we won it as we won F all else. I'd have gone to the parade. It would have mattered. Even then, in all honesty, I'd have known it really was just a friendly.

I've been to Liverpool more than Asteroid, and i've only been once.
In a couple of weeks Liverpool will start back with their winning ways and we can forget about pointless games and stats from 19/20 that people aren't really bothered by. It doesn't matter that their last 14 games have been along the lines of W6 D2 L6 or that only one of their wins in seven months will have been against teams not worried about relegation. I reckon they've got this, they'll have 15 points from 5 games and not look back.
