Heard nothing from club regarding season tickets, what they will cost & when issued, will it be the same as Lockdown free screening until fans are let in? I’m on direct debit with them but not sure what’s going on

Not really much point announcing anything when things are so unknown.

The grim reality is that we along with Luton have just about the least equipped stadium and surrounding area to accommodate fans under whichever strict regulation is eventually brought in. Even when some fans start being allowed in elsewhere it might be a longer wait for us.

2500 today for Brighton’s friendly with Chelsea as the very first step.

Sky Sports and the EFL are set to ensure supporters don’t miss any of the action when the season returns in September after agreeing a new flexible framework that will ensure league matches are either available for broadcast or streaming whilst in-person access to games is restricted.

The broadcaster (Sky Sports) will show 130 live EFL league matches throughout 2020/21.

Whilst the doors remain shut to fans, or with limited spectators allowed through the turnstiles*, an arrangement exists whereby all QPR matches that are NOT LIVE on Sky Sports will be available to stream on QPR+ for a match pass price of £10.

In addition, QPR Season Ticket holders will, under the EFL’s newly-agreed framework, be provided with QPR+ streaming access to all HOME GAMES and AWAY MIDWEEK games, which will also form part of the club’s wider approach towards season ticket holders. Full details will be announced shortly.

The EFL’s match-by-match streaming and season ticket offer is a TEMPORARY measure that has only been put in place whilst clubs operate at a zero or reduced capacity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and will be subject to regular review with the first set for early October.

Subject to clubs choosing to provide streaming access to Season Ticket holders, which QPR will be, this is only available if supporters purchase their 2020/21 ticket by October 4th.

EFL Chief Executive David Baldwin said: “There is no argument that attending live matches is what the League, its Clubs and fans want to see and, clearly, the overriding objective is to get supporters back into stadiums as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, this framework allows our Clubs, if they so wish, to reward their most loyal supporters by providing what we hope is only short-term access to watch their matches.

“It’s important that whilst the doors remain fully, or part shut, we ensure there is the ability for fans of all EFL Clubs to be able to gain access and watch their team and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sky Sports for their support in this matter. Collectively, it’s not our preferred situation but given the circumstances COVID has presented us it gives us a temporary option whilst we finalise our plans for fans returning.”

Sky Bet Championship Streaming

Championship clubs are able to stream any match not shown live on Sky Sports to fans who purchase individual match passes for £10.

By following the EFL’s new framework, QPR will be providing the following live stream access to Season Ticket holders on QPR+:

  • All home matches, including those shown live on Sky
  • Any midweek away match, including those shown live on Sky
The EFL have stated that clubs are not permitted to provide access to any away weekend match, live on Sky or not, within a season ticket package. Match passes for away weekend fixtures that are not selected by Sky Sports will be available to purchase.

What’s happened happening?
When does anyone expect to be in their seats?
I actually don't know why we aren't talking about this more.

Even in the last couple of days, QPR put out an email that doesn't seem to bring much clarity.

I really really think that, at this point, they should be having a season ticket holders only attendance, with there being a limit on how many season tickets can be sold above the renewed ones. I'd be happy with that at first, if we are to be cautious.

With that said, if we went back to full attendance, I would still go... not because I don't take the issue seriously but because people aren't forced to return and those who feel comfortable returning can be asked to take the precautions (masks, no direct contact, etc.)

I got an email from the Club today saying the season ticket for streaming is going up from £115 to £140 per year from the next time you renew as I understood it. Quite an increase.

Not bad versus £10 a game though. Got to love those economies of scale.

I pay for my season ticket by monthly direct debit and got this from the club yesterday....

So you will be paying even if you can’t actually go to games?

I’m hoping that all will be back to normal early next year when I qualify for old git discount.

Hopefully we might be back at games by October.

Fans are due back in grounds up here from mid-October, but obviously they don't have the crowds that you get down there

With no away fans, you could probably get 4,000 in LR, suitably distanced. The problem would be getting people in and out.
