Jurgen Klopp on Chamberlain: "Oxlade's ability to receive between the lines & shoot from distance shows he can play a lot of games as a number 9 next season which gives us a new option"

Thiago in, Origi out and The Ox considered a forward.

I could see this being OK, but it wouldn't be the traditional number 9, more the 10 position with salah and mane playing more centrally perhaps.

that i could see though still think he isn't fully suited to it but then i was and remain a AOC sceptic .

When he joined, I was reasonably happy, thought he could add some much needed dynamism to our midfield.

The statement reminds me of lallana, the reason he was brought in for no longer exists, the team has moved on while he was injured, he can either adapt into a new position or hes surplus to requirements. Lallana never evolved so was allowed to leave, maybe ox will be different

Fabrizio Romano has told CBS Sports that Liverpool are now ready to discuss a fee with Bayern Munich for Thiago Alcantara.
Thiago has helped Bayern win the Champions League, despite heavy speculation that Liverpool want to sign him.
The Spanish midfielder put in a brilliant display last night, as Bayern beat PSG 1-0, which only led for calls to sign him to grow louder from Liverpool supporters.

I must of missed the part where put in a brilliant display.

I didnt watch closely, it was drab, but I didn't see him do much.
He saw a lot of the ball, playing a fairly deep lying position and sprayed the ball around the park. His passing range is excellent.
Never seems hurried and confident on left or right foot.

Don’t think he’s the type of player that’s gonna grab the headlines though. Much like xavi, Modric, alonso type where they’ll dictate play and keep the ball moving while breaking the lines with passing.

The goal came form his pass breaking the lines to get Bayern behind the psg defence which then came back out for the cross. The amount of times he took the ball from the defence in tight areas and either turned or found a 1 touch pass to break the press as well.

he wasn’t outstanding for sure, but then no one was in that game but you don’t be a regular in 7 title winning sides at Bayern with them wanting to keep you longer if you’re not a very good player b
