Will you invest in Hull City? A group of Hull City supporters operating under the name of the “Circle of Support”are proposing to survey the supporter community, to gauge the viability of a supporter shareholding. Who are we? First and foremost, we are fans. On a match day you will find us cheering on our club, whether that’s in the Family Stand, an executive box, the singing section or from the settee at home. We are an anonymous group that contains a broad range of professionals, with backgrounds in construction, education, accountancy and law. We intend to use our experience in business to move this project forward. When will you conduct the survey? Our team are currently working on the survey. It is important that we get the questions right and at the same time we have to be able to answer any queries that supporters may have. Why are you doing this? The time is right to ask the question. Being in a lower league, may make a supporter shareholding a viable proposition. Supporter investment could also be sustainable at this level. We feel that it is also important that there is an understanding of the level of support for the club going forward financial or otherwise. What are you proposing? We want to make it clear that we are at the early stages of this project. The amount needed to be raised is not clear and talks with the current owners have not taken place. Once the survey is completed, an assessment of the results will take place and a proposal put forward. This may be for a full or a part shareholding. We may have to work with major investors, in fact we would be happy to hear from any individual or consortium looking at buying Hull City or from any supporters who would like to join the team. Are you a Supporter Group? No. We are not aligned or affiliated to any supporter group we are simply a group of supporters who have come together for this project. At this moment in time we are not a formal group. We have professionals with expertise in investment and football law looking at how best to proceed once we know if the project is viable. What happens next? We will conduct a poll of the supporter base this is the first stage; evaluate the level of support before we take it any further.
I hope Ehab didn't see that someone has bought Roma, another club which shares a ground they don't own, for £532 million.
Feels like a really positive initiative, We've spent so long waiting for something to happen on the ownership so it's great that supporters might start to be proactive about finding a solution.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if fans were successful in a buyout, and proceeded to change the name to Hull Tigers, if only for a season.
Bollocks you guessed the master plan. Well nearly, the plan is to change the name to Manchester United.
