    Sort of a surprise to me because I thought he’d want to take his national team to the Euros as they’ve got a tasty squad. He’s got the Barça connection though so maybe it was just too big a deal for him to turn down. Big job on his hands to turn that ship around.

    As a player who was in his Barca prime when the team was good, and
    their academy had its overhaul on its way to the production line that
    served them well for so long, it will be interesting to see whether he is Cryuff 2.

    I think Xavi has already said he won’t take the job until he knows who the next president is. It seems a highly factional situation behind the scenes.
