Heskey was playing for a bigger club and so he got the nod. I'm not saying it's right but it's just the way life is. Darren realised this and decide to move to a bigger and better club. You can't blame the lad for being ambitious.

Bent was left out of World cup squad, which was unfair. However, after the world cup Bent was included in the England squad while playing for Sunderland (e.g. against Switzerland).

And the be fair, if Villa are a bigger club than us, they are bigger than you. However, seems league positions have both us and you as bigger clubs than Villa. Sunderland and Newcastle clubs also have higher attendance than Villa.
 
You'll not hear Carroll saying anything like that for a long time, cause he won't be playing any football <laugh>

£35 million for an injured player who is rumoured to be out until the end of the season <laugh>

As gutted as I was to see him go, this could well have been good business

He will make it back, for either the West Ham game or the Man United game.

As Kenny has said, he was bought for 5 years, not just this season.
 
Never did here what the outcome was from Sweden did we, rumours flying around that it will be the rest of the season!!!

Lot of money to pay out then have him sitting out for so long, should have waited until the summer now your paying a crocked players wages.
 
My brother works for a firm of accountants in newcastle. One of his clients was Bent. He was told by Bent that when a new player signs for Sunderland he is advised to look for housing in newcastle and not to "hang around" in Sunderland. Bent lived on the quayside along with NINE other current first team players. Bent told my brother on a number of occasions how much he hated the place and wanted out as soon as possible! Only 3 current first teamers live within the "City" boundaries and they live in the Washington/Houghton area.
