What if I were to tell you that in the last three and a half years there have been more drone strikes, combatant and civilian deaths than Obama's 8 years in office?

Never understood why the general population in the U.K. act as if they’re critical stakeholders in US elections. **** all to do with us tbh, it’s just weird that half of our population started crying when Trump won last time.

I’m convinced it will be closer than the polls predict.

I'd say it's a worry for all of us.

A country with 300 million plus ppl and these two cretins are the best they can come up with? But it's not the best is it. We all know that, so the real problem is their electoral system which is absolutely fcked.

It usually is, but no one has ever won being as far behind as he is, this close to a US election.

Literally the only way he’ll win is by cheating on an industrial scale.

Hilary was 6.5% in front of Trump, in Wisconsin, on 2016 Election Day and still ended up losing by something like half a percent.
Trump is covering all of his bases and IMO still has a huge following in the swing states. They will buy into whatever lies he keeps telling. The guy is an out an out grifter with no moral compass whatsoever.

Slightly off topic, I was talking to a couple of US colleagues around healthcare in the US and was really surprised that both were against free healthcare. Both were in favour of an insurance backed scheme, citing that they were reasonably young and healthy so don’t see why they should contribute to something they don’t use. Listening to their views on politics made me realise that it’s almost impossible to second guess how they would vote. The enthusiasm for Biden was slightly underwhelming, although I think Harris is a really smart move for Biden and could certainly sway the undecided.

He's a chelsea fan so that's an immediate NO on grounds of insanity - his not mine. My insanity involves ladies' underwear.

But if it weren't for that, then in the words of Brando, he could've been a contender! There are times I lay awake at night wondering how such a nice lad like Bobby Kennedy D could've become a chav. Deserves shooting tbh.

Absolutely. And that's also part of the problem in American politics (and ours) - propaganda heightened by media spin. At least when Hitler was doing it we didnt have 24 hour news channels and twitterbollox.

That's why two old farts with very little credibility get to be main candidates and why ppl better than them can't or won't.

Biden is 78 in November so he should wait for 12 more years and a bit.

Then America can have Joe 90 as their president.

The result will likely be closer than the polling currently suggests, but that’ll largely be a result of the manipulation they’ll bring to the table imo. Trumps base will vote for him whatever he does, but fortunately they’ll be out numbered. Biden is a ****e choice like.

Those young fit and healthy colleagues should possibly check out the stats on the level of bankruptcies driven by cancer diagnosis in the States, despite having insurance.

It's a strange system certainly but Trump is only the 5th president to win the electoral vote and not the public vote so there are very few times when the president isn't actually the people's choice. They would need a major change to the Constitution to alter the voting system and that is unlikely to happen.

Your friends are probably Republicans as they are against free health care.
