Can you or someone else provide a breakdown of his injury record as from what I can see and posted on here few days ago, bar one season 2 years ago he missed about 5 games of the league season on average.
Thiago does pick up quite few niggly injuries but they don't keep him out for too long. He did suffer some serious injuries earlier on his career though.
As much as I'd like Thiago, there are lots of barriers and problems with it. Klopp has to raise funds to buy Thiago as the board don't see any resale value in him plus huge wages. We are already stacked with midfielders - Henderson, Fabinho, Gini, Ox, Jones, Milner and Keita. Of those, you'd only look to sell one of Ox, Gini or Keita to raise money but they all offer something so different to the others that it's tough to see which one to lose. If you keep them all and add Thago, I could see Ox or Gini getting upset with reduced game time - particularly Ox who came from Arsenal looking for game time in his prefered position - CM. Selling Shaqiri for 25 would be a miracle in the COVID-hit football market. Will be interesting if we directly replace him with a wide forward or if they money goes towards Thiago...or someone else.
Ox and Keita are unreliable (physically speaking), Milner is nothing more than a back up now and is knocking on, Jones is still a young lad, Hendo and Gini are both getting on as well. I agree we have a lot of options but I don't think it's as strong as it seems - having said that, I don't think Thiago is the answer lol.
looking at that doesn’t seem injur prone to me. Had one bf injury in 17/18 that missed 1/3 of season other than that it’s 1 game here and there. And thrn a groin injury which looks like tried to fix when he needed surgery so ended up missing twice as many games as didn’t have surgery right away. I imagine if you compared that to our current midfield options wouldn’t be any worse
Liverpool are weighing up a swoop for £40m-rated Watford forward Ismaila Sarr. #lfclive [ @LynchStandard
£40m is way too much imo. I'm not sure about Sarr he didn't exactly light up the league. He's also not only African but from the same country as Mané which would mean that both of them would be away the same length of time in the AFCON and not returning sooner if he were from a country that got knocked out earlier. I trust Klopp, as always but personally think we could do better. Werner wasn't much more.
£40m seems far too much. Similar to Ake. If Bournemouth and Watford had stayed up, would they be wanting £60m+??
