'Pool have raided Southampton in recent years for their best similar to Oxford back in the 80s - Houghton and Aldridge ... and Barnes from Watford, Lawrensen from Brighton ... their spending power meant they could literally pick the best players from other clubs at will ... the myth that these future greats joined to experience the Anfield tradition and heritage because it was already ingrained somewhere deeply in their souls is frankly bunkum... Fergie was also great at spending big bucks on the best players at other teams, Irwin from Oldham, Rio from Leeds, Andy Cole from the Toon, Carrick and Sheringham from the Spuds, Dwight Yorke ... remember when Fulham were competing for too 4 ... Fergie promptly bought Louis Saha and that was Fulham' s chances ****ed ...

Given his claim the he wasn't alive when United were dominating the EPL, I'm guessing 2... a lager shandy and a skimmed milk strawberry Nesquick (with a straw) ... not necessarily in that order <laugh>
