Not many will have seen this, not many will appreciate it but for me it’s a blockbustering epic

The 10 Commandments

Loved it

Not seen it, I remember watching Passion of the Christ when it came out and thought it was just weird.

Mel Gibson is generally a pretty decent director and Passion was huge when it came out buy I thought it bordered on torture for the sake of it.

Im just puzzled as to why you found gladiator, which is blokes, swords, fighting any more deep or complex than 300 which is blokes, weird looking blokes, swords and fighting.

I preferred the depth of the story In Gladiator

once again I didnt just watch it for the sword fighting y ****. 300 was more arty, bulging muscles ****e...so I get why you prefers it

All about visuals n **** tbh

Gladiator was a deep story for real men

I get what Luv is saying about Spartacus and Ben Hur, but Gladiator is about as good as it gets for an ancient roman film that anyone can make in the modern era. The proof is nobody else had managed it in 50 years.

It's like making Godfather in the 70's, Scarface in the 80's, then along comes Goodfellas. All 3 great films, all very different but all done to a standard never equalled. Casino comes close but tbh it's just nostalgia for ppl (like me) pining for more Goodfellas.

This all started with the statement "one of the greatest films ever made". That's a sweeping statement bro <laugh>

Another one in the same mould, I'd put Cleopatra - Rex Harrison, the late great Richard Burton, busty Liz Taylor as one of the best films ever made.

And then there's your other classics like Lawrence of Arabia. That film is just majestic. Just the opening scene at the well is worth watching more than most other movies. Incredible film.
