Taking a day off work

I’ve not taken a day off work (other than Bank Holidays) for three years.


... until today.

And it’s marvellous!

I am happy to report that I am doing absolutely **** all.

I’ve got a case of Henry Westons’ vintage cider which will be depleted before dusk.
Even the Mrs has gone out, so I have the house to myself.

I suppose a lot of you blokes don’t actually work, or are taking the piss out of the furlough scheme, so this probably means nothing to you.

But for you blokes who work, how do you generally spend your days off?

 

Are you not entitled to paid time off? Lol

 

I consider myself very fortunate to be in work. I've seen in the news about thousands about to lose their livelihoods in places like whsmiths, pizza express, BP and a few of the banks and I genuinely feel for what those ppl and and their families must be feeling and likely to go through.

Having worked solidly for the last 4 months through lockdown I took 3 days off over this weekend and really struggled to get myself back into work mode on monday. Sometimes it's best to just keep going.

 

A case of Henry Westons? That'll go well.

 

Yep I've been very fortunate to be working throughout too. Okay I hated working from home but that's nothing in comparison to what some have been through.

Gonna get a lot worse in the coming weeks and months too.

 

But the coastal retreat though.........

 

the caravan parks have been closed.

 

Flounce by about 6pm I reckon.

 

1000s are losing jobs, left, right and centre..

 

Today is my day off

I’ll be chilling getting stoned and cooking

Chill with the boys

I do ‘having a day or 2 off’ every week.

The world can **** off and work as hard as it wants

Worked throughout ... 80% of our total workforce was furloughed at one point and 600 jobs will go ... very tough times

 

I've just sat on my arse all the way through this whole thing .

 

I wasn’t furloughed but I wasn’t working either

you really are a **** of the highest order if you believe that anyone is taking the piss out of the furlough scheme, they have been furloughed so that their employers can have a survival plan.

9.6m people have been furloughed and are extremely worried that they will lose their jobs when the scheme ends.
So far 50% have returned to work. If the other 4.8m don’t return to work then it will be a tragedy both at a personal and economic level.

But according to you it’s only flu and will only kill a few old people, so no biggy.

 

I was furloughed for about a month, then, as expected, they came crawling back.

"Oh Welshie, Welshie, please we need you. We need your 6ft 2 chiseled physic composed of equal parts charisma and testosterone. We need your level headed nature, intelligence and ****, we need your handsome good looks."

I said, "chill, I'm in baby."

 

No.

Self employed, see.
