I'm one of the few directing my blame at the premier league and PIF
You just wrote this:
Quote: I will say this again though PIF have pissed me off.. Theyve hung us out to dry.. Just quit on us and in the end whether there's Ben curruption or not the end take on this from the rest of the world is that the Newcastle fans sacrificed their morals for their own greed.

If that's not also putting the blame on PIF for walking away then I stand corrected.

In previous posts I've expressed my anger towards the premier league mate, but I also wanted to reiterate my anger that PIF walked away. This part seems to be lost on nufc fans that's all. Like you say I'm not stupid it's about making money they aren't in it to make some random set of fans happy, but I feel displeased that they've effected the fanbase and city's image in the public eye after they'd effectively militised them with promises of the fruits of the world. There's been wrongs in this and whats been denied I suspect should have been allowed if things were done by the book, so I've emailed masters and signed the petition... Now we can look fwd to the lasting bad image nation wide this has given us while watching the painful demise of our club and city post brexit/covid 1o.

And I am saying that no blame should attach to PIF. They have walked away because it was starting to be more trouble than its worth. Its exactly what i would have done in their position. They don't owe us anything. If you are arguing that they were never the right owner because of their background then fair enough but I don't think that was what you were saying.

Well I am part blaming them mate.. For the reasons I've supplied.

Vague rumours that James pallotta, current Roma owner, could go for Newcastle once the sale of his club goes through for $600m.

Must admit I felt a little sheepish doing it as I think this whole online petition/crowd funding business is a bit ridiculous (which is why I didn't donate to Chippy's Buy Me a Pint crowdfunding appeal).

However I do think it's important that there is an independent investigation into how these owner tests are carried out because this one seemed to highlight weaknesses in the current system.

1) Remit - The blaze of publicity surrounding this takeover seemed to open up the remit of the test to a wider analysis of whether these were the right owners for a PL club and not following the clear specs set out in the PL rules and regulations

2) Conflict of Interest - Once this was no longer a case of - are the proposed controllers fit and proper persons according to the definitions indicated, then the fact that the body doing the investigation is made up of the clubs in the league provides a possibility of a conflict of interest. I realise that this goes on in many sports (Major League baseball being a prime case where owners decide on new franchises and proposed franchise moves).

I don't have a problem with them widening the remit of the fit and proper persons test but they need to be consistent and it needs to be done by an independent organisation.
There’s rumours that masters was a director of a company that was directly involved in selling PL intellectual property rights so apparently he has an even bigger vested interest in Bein and Qatar.
