Think so, aren't they up for basically the same thing?

I don't think Villa will want to be relegated either. They would be done on FFP rules so I am led to believe!

Edit, Bournemouth and Wolves also cheated to get up.

Probably only us lot in Leeds that go up fair and square! :emoticon-0104-surpr

I could be wrong, but I thought the derby thing was just down to the actual transaction as opposed to when they’ve chosen to account for it?

Yeah think you're right actually. Either way this whole selling stadium to the owner thing really isn't good imo, the Championship is a ****ing mess financially.

Villa, as I understand it, have dodged a bullet. They'd have been dead lumber, with a lot of questions to answer, had they gone down.

It goes back to the whole FFP argument again, and whether it’s wrong for an owner to invest in his own team if he chooses to.

If they want to, then they’ll try and find ways around the rules. The Rooney deal with Derby stinks as well in terms of the actual rules, as he’s being funded by their prime sponsor as I understand it.

Derby are a complete **** show of a club.

Selling grounds to owners.

Getting a gambling firm to pay for Rooney and getting the money by the FFP by employing him as a 'coach'.

Players drink driving and sacking the club captain because he injured himself in said crash and was a top earner at 33 years old and with a long contract. Keeping the other guilty members because they retain some value in the transfer market.

I won't get in to spygate and the way they wanted point deductions for it as I might be biased on that issue.

The biggest problem is the huge gap between the PL and Championship financially, as once you throw in the parachute payments it's impossible for other clubs to really compete without owner investment. Gap is only getting bigger and bigger too.

Said this before but I think we'll end up with a 'PL 2' before long with two tiers of 18 clubs.

Something needs to happen. I don't want to go down the route of Leeds being a big club etc but in the Championship we were always one of the bigger clubs. Every season but clubs like Burnley would come down from the PL and not only couldn't we compete, they'd come and take our best players because they could afford to double their wages. It's a massive advantage.
