nothing like that mate as they have been clean and green since they went up and have managed to stay up for a while they have gradually spent more each season to improve the squad but injuries killed them this season. Those injuries are now back due to lockdown and results improved recently but too late. FFFP rules different in the Prem but once you over extend yourself like we did under Ridsdale, a fire sale is required. Ours was needed because we didnt make the Champions League, Bournemouths is potentially much worse as they get relegated and lose out on over £100m per year with hardly any revenue coming in as fan base is tiny, no assets except players. Parachute payments will last for 3 years in their case and total £92m but will need to offload players. Parachute payments have killed fair football
I know it’s about 12 years since I was in Bournemouth’s ground but at that time the pot was too small to p*** in so they wouldn’t get that much in ground recipes
It’s only personal but I never saw them as a premier league side
Just seen it Brentford have proved themselves a busted flush

Won't they have some kind of punishment for breaking FFP rules when they went up? That could be financial too.

You rang a bell with me there, chaps, & the itch wouldn't go away. So I checked. It seems that they've paid their FFP penalty from their last year in the Championship ....

Seems they were fined £7.6m

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36189779

But paid only £4.75m

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-s...ion-pounds-for-ffp-rules-breach-idUKKBN1JV0ZW

Only skimmed it, so I may be way out with the numbers. :)

Brentford look like they’re falling apart so maybe there’s hope of Benrahma after all <laugh> still think he’ll go higher though.

He didn't look like he was capable of playing at a higher level today. He was ****e. Hopefully we can drive that price right down! <laugh>

In regards to Augustin... We sent him back in June when his contract expired, at the time of the contract expiring we were not promoted. That is the get out clause the club is attempting to use. I guess it depends on the wording, I assume it states “at the end of the loan” you can’t keep a clause with no end date? If the wording was “end of the current season” then I guess we’re going to encounter problems

As of today Monday 27th July We know Leeds have made an offer of £27m for Johnathan David and we know the club have had ‘deep” conversations with Club River Plate about Lucas Martinez Quarta an Argentine CB International.

We cannot confirm anything other than Bielsa likes Arsenal Keeper Martinez and Man Utd keeper Romero and he also likes Thiago Almada from Veles Sarsfeild and the player has said he wants to play for Bielsa

the window opens today and we know the club are looking at some expensive young kids to boos the academy

Bielsa at Everton yesterday probably means he was checking out a couple of Bournemouth players

Interesting read catching up on this. Personally, never been a fan of resigning ex-players, they decided to move on and so should the club and fans. Look forward not backward.

Love to see the Leeds scouts continuing to look to Norn Iron to pick up the cream of the emerging crop after Robbie McDaid and Alfie McCalmont. I hope the lad had a great time at TA and makes a name for himself. <ok>

the best bit is that young Charlie has been coached by David Healey at Linfield, so will have helped him choose Leeds over Man Utd Liverpool Spurs etc

Have a feeling that something will happen on the Big Kev front in the next week or two. The player has been silent since leaving and only the club are talking by bigging up they are due £18m now. I believe Leeds have grounds for getting out of the deal but I believe Leeds feel responsible for potentially killing Big Kevs career as his value will have plummeted. We know Bielsa rates him highly but needs a fully fit JKA and Bielsa himself said £20m is cheap for a player who is worth twice that when fit. I can see us buying him at a knockdown price with add ons

I'd take that all day long - limited initial outlay, further payments based on his achievements. But will Augustin still agree to come knowing the rigours of the training schedule?

Thats the big question mate.

I imagine he wanted to play for Bielsa, we also know he wanted to play for the club. I imagine the dodgy hammy peed him off because he looked mean and lean during lockdown if the club were speaking to him all through this problem and he was made fully aware etc, maybe it was always the plan to renegotiate due to fitness, its like buying a faulty product you get a rebate or money back. We paid £3m in loan fee for him and that was wasted too ........

the lad has kept quiet all through this as he could have slagged the club off etc but he kept his powder dry. Lets face it his value will be through the floor unless something gets salvaged and the German club lose big money, so they need to settle this somehow?

I’m sure Bielsa said something about him not having the right level of fitness (before the final injury). I’m sure I also read that Kev had said his body wouldn’t cope with the Bielsa fitness regime.

if this was true it would be career suicide. Bielsa had nothing but praise for Big Kev has he had followed his career from back at PSG and knew him to be potentially a top striker. He even said the price was cheap because once fit he would be worth between £35m-£40m

Looks like half a dozen stories again about Juan Foyth who Pochetino brought from Argentina as a kid, but seems like jose doesn't fancy him. Foyth has been on the radar for 18mth and this time it could happen and apparently it makes no difference if Ben White becomes available we want at least 2 CBs and Foyth is a baller who can play DM.

one story thats starting to get legs via an agent but now in a few media outlets. Florentina!!! This is a product of the Benfica academy and was wanted by Man Utd until they got Bruno Fernandez?

Not sure how accurate it is but it’s not something that would just pop into my head, also I only follow proper journalists and avoid all the click bait media sights.
