I think the chanting/singing will be proven to have an effect tbh.

Yeh I can see that as well. Wouldnt keeping a 2m distance cover that though? And/or put in place wearing face masks. I know it sounds OTT to watch a game but I can see clubs going for that.

Not easy to police though, they can't even get fans to sit down so not sure how well that would go.

It'll be threats of match bans I reckon. With reduced capacity and fans/STH limited to a certain number of games, imagine how many will be waiting in the wings to take your place.

Yeah probably. Will be easy to spot in cases of big gaps between people too I suppose. Can't see this ending well for lower league clubs though.

Interesting though as it could turn out that a lot of people buying season tickets are essentially just lending their club money. Be interesting to see if clubs ballot each game or stick to same group.

Good point about the lower leagues. I'll hold my hands up and say I honestly don't know how packed they are and whether the capacity is there to keep numbers the same and distance. But making it work will be a nightmare. I really hope they think about these clubs when they come up with a decent plan and don't kust think about what works for the Pl.

Yeah someone on our board has just pointed out that it might be easier for a lot of clubs as some don't get past half full anyway.

Though losing even 500-1000 fans at that level could be a disaster.

Whatever they decide for the lower leagues is going to result in increased match day costs for the club. My own club normally “shuts” sections of the ground when ticket demand is not there. Our capacity would allow for social distancing based on current numbers, Although having to now spread these fans around the stadium will require more match day resources, which they may decide is not affordable.

Or increase ticket prices but that may drive away some fans?

Family/Household season ticket holders can sit together (helps somewhat) and everyone to wear face masks? Don't know how they'll enforce it in the lower leagues though.

You missed this bit out mate...

Jurgen Klopp picked up the LMA manager of the year award last night, and he was full of praise for Sir Alex Ferguson.

“I know it’s not 100 per cent appropriate as a Liverpool manager but I admire him,” Klopp said after winning the LMA award.

“I remember he was the first British manager I met. We had breakfast. I’m not sure how much he remembers but I remember because for me this moment was like meeting the Pope.

“It was absolutely great and from that first season we clicked.

“I didn’t think at this moment I would have a trophy in my hands named after him.”

    Ouch!

At least your manager (the one you think is overrated) has some grace <ok>

Too much venom and hate in Astros arguments, I stopped the blind hatred of rivals in my mid 20's, it's all a bit cringy when grown men take football rivalry too far.

They seem to have a lot of respect for each other, I only ever hated on fergie for obvious reasons, youd be bat **** crazy not to respect what he's done in football, obviously one of the best managers ever to grace the game.

If you think about it, such hatred has many parallels with rascism - it is completely irrational, based on surface differences and pre-conceptions and does not take into account the character of individuals within the group that the hatred is directed at - instead making negative generalisations about that group as a whole.

It goes way beyond sporting rivalry.

Quite pathetic in this day and age.

Easy for you to say as a club with no real rivalry. It's the edge that makes those games so good.

Although I don't completely disagree, I think most people can distinguish between sporting and real hatred.
