Love the opening scenes to High Noon ... no words, just the staccato soundtrack as a young Lee Van Cleef and two other 'baddies' meet up and then ride to the town where the sheriff, Gary Cooper, is marrying Grace Kelly ... so atmospheric and full of silent menace ...cracking stuff.
You don't get many good modern westerns. The only ones I can think of are The Proposition and Slow West.
