The most annoying thing is those exact same arguments are now being used about Lo Celso - particularly from the r/coys crowd
This season , the 2 bottom teams, Norwich and Watford. Norwich beat last years champions and Watford beat this years champions*. Funny old game.
He more or less single handedly got them promoted last season and now he's more or less saved them from going back down. Quality player and definitely needs to move if he wants to make the EURO's squad as well as have a decent career in general. Problem is he's likely going to be in a similar situation as Zaha at Palace. Signed a new deal and whilst they're in the Premier League, his value will put off too many sides as Villa won't wanna lose him, they know they'll drop without him regardless of how much they could make. Missing out on him in 18/19 still annoys me. I'm never gonna let that drop lol... ...Especially as it's meant enduring two seasons of watching Captain Crab in the meantime
i reckon grealish could play the winks role in the same way lo celso can. Both are tenacious enough with good tackling abilities and both can drive and move the ball much better.
He can play as an 8, 10 or out wide. If we didn't balls the deal up in 18/19, I'd have imagined the 8 role would've been his seeing as we had Eriksen in the 10 with Son and Dele alongside him but no one creating from deep as Dembele was sadly broken. It was when he was in the 8 role that I noticed him, as I was watching Villa games in the hope to catch Onomah but Grealish was stealing the show, that was when I started understanding the hype. I think in a better, more progressive side, Grealish can be a fantastic player, whether that be in the 8 or 10 role.
Make up your own nicknames mate! Besides he doesn’t have a Wikipedia page so he doesn’t actually exist
I'm from Tottenham, I steal what I want. He don't need a Wiki page when he can do what he can in the vid below. Not jumping the gun or anything but he's already better than Oblak.
Indeed. Nice to have two promising young keepers in the academy. Interested to see what they do with him and Whiteman next season
the same reason why no one bought Salah off us or you bought ndombele for a club record fee, teams make mistakes. as for england caps, everyone knows caps are given to english players of the big clubs. You only need to see the stupid amount of caps we've given the likes of jesse lingard and ross barkley to know that
I'd guess it's big club bias, which is why turd like Hudson-Odoi has 3 England caps or Lingard has 20+. Plus it wasn't that long ago there was a tug of war for his international allegiance between us and Ireland. As for the second, that question can go to thousands of players. There's loads of factors why a team may or may not want a player. Club's stature, buying club's needs, player's value, differing views on the potential of a player. I bet if you told Man Utd fans in 2018 that their team will be linked with a £50m move for Grealish in 2020 they'd laugh in your face. Everyone laughed at Liverpool when they paid £75m for van Dijk, without sounding too cliched, they're the ones laughing now. Grealish has proven himself to be one of the better players in the country and we could've - wait, should've - got him for peanuts in footballing terms. Instead we've endured a bang average footballer in Winks for two seasons and whilst he's certainly not solely to blame, he's certainly part of the problem why this team has seen a steep decline in the past 18 months or so.
For me, don't wanna bad mouth Whiteman too much but from the little I've seen of both, Austin is a far better prospect. Remember going to the Emirates a couple years back for the U23 NLD, we lost 2-1 and Parrott got sent off but if it weren't for Austin, we'd have lost by 5 or 6, pulled off some brilliant saves. If I were to make a prediction right now, Whiteman will go on to be a decent League One keeper, Austin I think could have a chance at being a Prem keeper or a good Championship one.
Grealish isn't one of the best players in the country. Compare him to Dele who actually plays in the same position. Winks has been only played as DM for two seasons, he has never had any chance at 'number 8' since Dembele, Dier and Wanyama got injured. Grealish would be nowhere near first choice for any position in our current squad
He's one of the better players in the country. Comparing him to Dele at the moment is probably the worst thing you could say, you'll find most Spurs fans will happily sell Dele this summer, but if you do want to run a comparison, Dele's played a total of 38 games this season, scored 9 and assisted 6. Grealish has played a total of 41 games this season, scored 10 and assisted 8. Baring in mind Grealish is surrounded by turd other than McGinn and Mings, it makes his stats even more impressive. If you honestly believe he wouldn't make our XI then... I just don't know what to say to be honest. Even blindfolded, he'd get in the XI over Winks and Sissoko.
