LJ one of the favourites for the Watford job Whoever gets it will have a short tenure - the last 6 managers have lasted a total of 186 games - that's an average of 31 per manager!! We could do worse than go for Nigel Pearson?
We may miss out on Chris Hughton here, as I reckon Watford will nip in and get him. I don’t know if we were genuinely in for him or not?
I don't think we are in for Hughton. Danny Cowley has been sacked by Huddersfield for talking to another championship club (reportedly us). He is now favourite for the job with Skybet. I truly hope that this is not true, I would have thought that he was more suited to a job with the gas. If true and we take this bloke on, then for me that shows a total and utter lack of any ambition whatsoever and I have to agree with many who say that rugby has overtaken football as the main priority for BristolSport, they have a world class coach and sign world class players and we look as though we might end up with a bloke who has a worse record in 40 games in the championship than LJ had in 4.5 years FFS.
Well I did say be careful for what you wished for....our club are renowned for opting down the cheap option route..If you thought it was bad, it could end up a hell of lot worse....let's hope it's fake news and we do actually get a decent manager to take us to at least the playoffs next season!....................I'm holding my breath
I thought the same at the time...but we were fortunate enough, that he did better in the championship, than any manager previous.....since AD......we got lucky!
Yes we got lucky for 3 half seasons and a nice cup run and that's it, but he was the cheap option, there is no denying that.
Isn't it a bit early to be sticking the boot into the Lansdowns? Perhaps we should at least wait until we see who gets the job. This is all just press speculation at the moment.
If he gets it then good luck to him. I can’t see many Watford fans being excited about it though. For me, it would be interesting to see how he does in a different setup without the likes of Ashton choosing his players for him.
It's a forum for discussion about our football team, people discuss things, like what they have seen during games, like opinions, like rumours etc, etc, etc, Some people agree, some people disagree and it is meant to stimulate discussion. Some people post playground type replies and then 'run away' and add nothing to discussions. Some people even discuss tactics and substitutions, without having even watched the game.
This is an open forum for all people to express their points of view, opinions and critiques how, why and what ever way they wish as long as they keep within the forum and humanity rules. Some people are very knowledgible and forthright with their comments. Some people are gentle, thoughtful and very congenial with their expressions. Some people are total arseholes, oppresive and argumentative with their views. We have and like freedom, respect and understanding, we welcome and are open to all, if there are any problems they are dealt with. We are like our club a broad church and that will continue.
