Greek mate ... started the plate smashing thing in Greek Tavernas during the early 1900s, presumably coz he got fed up with all the washing up constantly piling up. Best keep it to yourself coz nobody likes a smart arse.
I think it's one of those stories that we will never know enough about to make a fair judgement. Especially when's it's kids involved. Just so awful mate. Obviously I'm bearing in mind though, there have been some notorious events, involving kids as child killers. I think I would need to read more.
In some ways it is simple ... if the other kid actually knew the lad couldn't swim when he pushed him in, then he should face charges for manslaughter or at least recklessness endangering life ... if he didn't know, then it is just a stupid lad prank that appears to have gone tragically wrong ... my mates and me did similarly stupid things at that age ... suspect most of us have. The only thing that doesn't sit well for me is why the kid that pushed him in didn't go in to help him when he was obviously struggling ... that doesn't look good.
I must have missed that, did the article or an article specifically state the suspect, didn't attempt to rescue him?
