Like I said, it's a lazy bullshit assumption. Far too many folk digging themselves into entrenched positions and taking sides. And that ultimately leads to people having blind spots because they are more interested in defending their position, than actually investigating the facts.

 

Not true...to begin with (late 1970s until about 1982) it was called "GRIDS" which stood for gay related immune deficiency syndrome.

It was continuously talked about as a "gay" disease until about 1984 ish.

It was when the medical profession realised that it could be caught and transfered by hetrosexuals that governments began to take the issue seriously.

The safe sex campaigns and the schemes to stop needle sharing (from 1986 to the mid 90s) slowed down the spread of AIDs and saved countless number of lives until medical discoveries stopped it being an automatic death sentence.

Amazing how those who accuse others of being brainwashed can exhibit the very same symptoms.

 

Not particularly, just an observation

 

The ironic thing is those who spend their time calling others sheep are generally sheep themselves, just to a different herd.

We've spoken about this before but the likes of Icke etc heavily rely on it. Start with something plausible such as a shadow government and people will suddenly think that they are correct on everything.

Then before you know it you're talking about shape shifting lizards running the entire world with the Jews.

 

You’re that lazy in both mind and body, that you seemingly can’t even be bothered to check the veracity of literally anything.

Coleman left the NHS nearly 40 ****ing years ago, to concentrate on writing agony uncle columns for tabloids and running premium rate ‘advice’ phone lines on subjects like, getting used to having a cock wedged up you. He was struck off the register nearly 15 years ago. So he’s not been a ‘medical professional’ since you were at school.

That doesn’t mean I’m saying that every word he’s ever written is bollocks though, as there’s a thing called nuance dog breath, google it.

 

I'll give an example of this. A mate of mine has gone full MAGA, despite being a fairly liberal thinking intelligent bloke, he's been totally sucked in by all the guff he's been reading about the 'deep state'.

He sent me an article the other day to read about Trump. The narrative goes that Trump, despite appearing to be a complete narcissistic and psychopath, whose presidency is largely a complete cluster **** of his own making, is actually secretly 'draining the swamp' of criminal *****phile democrats and bankers and will put these people in prison and free the people of the world from this evil cabal.

Now, despite him looking like a total twat to the rest of the world, he's actually doing this to 'out' all of the people who are against him so that he can expose them. The article likened Trump to a 'reverse Trojan horse' i.e. He looks really bad, but he's actually going to turn out to be really good

 

Yup, mental innit.

And that's exactly the process by which these people suck the gullible in, give them a nugget of truth and then tell them everything else that follows must also be true.

I think some people feel the need to HAVE to have an alternative view, no matter how baseless it might be, so they are willing to go along with this stuff just to avoid being one of the 'sheeple'

 

I think there’s a worrying level of co-ordination in the way the far right have co-opted the nerd community into their online fantasies. If that doesn’t sound like a conspiracy theory in itself (which it does, a bit. I’m probably a Russian bot).

What would traditionally be liberal thinking lefty type territory, ie questioning the establishment, seems to have been hijacked by the US based right wing Trump supporting base. As I mentioned, I've got mates who have always been fairly anti establishment now trying to tell me that Trump is going to be the saviour.

The irony of that position is staggering tbh.

 

I’m shocked by the amount of people that have been sucked in by this ****. I know liberals that literally hated the ground Trump walked on who have now completely u-turned on him and telling me how he’s secretly taking down nonces and resetting the economy to benefit citizens all around the world. It’s ****ing mental.

I wonder if Aber’s on board with it yet.
