You can say that about any rivalry that your team isn't involved in really.
You lot spaff your cheese up the wall about Pompy v Saints, for the rest of us it's just a bit meh.
You try telling that to people who live in and around Gatwick.
Wouldn't they be United fans in that area?
The Arsenal V Spurs derby just doesn’t work for me, it’s too corporate these days.
Very few seem to be a fiery these days, I know it’s not technically a derby but I’m sort of looking forward to the Leeds games next season, to see a bit of rivalry back that doesn’t involve us shouting Murderers at the other team’s fans because they’re making fun of a plane crash.
Of course we also have the Manchester derby but it’s not the same when the opponent have only got a handful of supporters.

A very odd one, that. But I’m going to hazard a guess that it generates more passion on the South Downs than Spurs v Goons do in North London.
Maybe you have to go to Hertfordshire to experience the full intensity of the North London (yawn) Derby. In actual North London, it’s all very “meh”.
The Jewish delis in Bushey Heath have been known to get a bit rowdy when accountants from each side pick up their morning bagels on derby day.
Problem with the ones involving big clubs now is there's always loads of tourists in the ground and ****s wearing half and half scarves.
Lower league ones are probably the best these days, wouldn't mind going to see Chester vs Wrexham one day.

The first NLD I went to was in 1987 at WHL and it was as raucous as it gets. Last one I went to was in 2012 when we beat them 5-2 and that was a cracker.
But yeah overall, the corporate angle has taken over, but isn't that the same at all 'big' clubs these days ? The NLD today is going to seem like a strange affair in an empty stadium with two teams battling it out for 7th and 8th

At least there’s something to play for.
When I first moved to North London, in the early eighties, I made a few trips to Highbury. The North Bank was quite impressive. I have very little desire to visit The Emirates unless Saints are playing there (I’ve been along in corporate on a couple of freebies. Only went because it was free).
Having said that, it’s easy to romanticise terraces and old stadiums, and forget how crap they often were. Now the stadiums are comfortable, the atmosphere is less intimidating, the toilets work, and you have to go to Selhurst Park to get a restricted view.
Basically the game has moved on, and left old gits like me behind. No one ever asked me in the 70s or 80s, if I had enjoyed my match day experience.
