And a lot of fun!I was a 70s kid and the wooden go karts with the rope to steer was brilliant, imagine health and safety
Go carts were ace, pram wheels planks of wood and a bit of rope, bundled together all you needed was a hill.

It’s amazing we survived actually. Kids of today would be thinking roll cages and side impact pillows, cycle helmets and body armour, we didn’t even have basic brakes

We called them guiders.
Pram wheels were a prized commodity. You could either sit and steer with your feet, or lie on your stomach, steer with your hands, and your feet hanging off the back were your brakes.
The latter practice was not approved of by parental shoe purchasers.
