It's probably a discussion for another time, but I really don't get overhead kicks in the box. Do the same thing outside the box you get penalised for dangerous play, do it in the box and you get lauded for a brilliant goal. The boot was very close to Verts' head, why is that not dangerous? If it hadn't deflected off the arm and rightly been disallowed, it would not have been disallowed for the overhead kick.

Just a reminder, we'd be in 7th right now if we gave a **** this evening

And that's what I find more aggravating than anything else: I can't even be bothered to speculate about the result being different if the shove on Kane was penalised, because even if we did get a penalty and score it we'd likely have spent the last half hour parking the bus with a team that has Serge Aurier in it

On the other hand, though, we had twelve minutes of stoppage time, and did we try and change things up in that time? Did we ****, instead we brought on Gedson for Aurier presumably because one of the coaching staff had a bet on

Might be an idea to start Ndombele and Lo Celso against Arsenal, assuming that they're both fit.
The final ball wasn't there from the Frenchman when he came on, but he made some good runs, tracked back and was involved, at least.
Clearly rusty having not played for months. Only one way to change that.

I completely agree, never happening though unfortunately.

Don't really agree to be honest. You could say that going up for a header is equally as dangerous seeing as you could headbutt someone. I agree overhead's carry a risk but equally the potential of a superb goal means I'd hate to see them penalised.

Bale's in the CL Final is one of the best I've ever seen.

Good shout.

If anything the risk isn't with where your foot is, but where the ground is

One time I tried an overhead kick and not only did I miss the ball, but had a pretty ugly landing with my shoulders taking the brunt of it

This is a penalty, apparently. Two-handed push in the back? Nope. Diving into a defender? <ok>

Reactions: Citizen Kane.
The Smith/Davies collision:

Foul by Davies? Not seeing it. What did he do?

No Eriksen, No Dele, and full backs who can`t cross the ball accurately, the result is zero creativity. We have too many average players in the starting XI, confidence is low and half our players look like they are already on the beach. I`ll judge Mourinho next season, not on these games of what amounts to essentially pre season.

As for Michael Oliverpool, I called it earlier, I said he would stick the knife into Mourinho if he got the opportunity, and that is exactly what he did, that was as clear a penalty kick as you will ever see. 2 more points disappear down the big black hole of VAR and nobody can be questioned about it, these referees have free licence to influence games as they see fit while hiding behind an office somewhere. VAR have robbed us of several cast iron penalties this season, so it is nothing new, I can remember several, the one on Kane against Newcastle immediately springs to mind. Contrast those with the kind of penalties we routinely see given to teams that wear a red shirt, and you will see a pattern of clear bias.
