If you’re talking about North African and Middle Eastern countries where alcohol is illegal, hashish and/or opium is widely available in most of them. Human beings, for whatever reason, have this need to get intoxicated.

Tbh I'm not advocating using those approaches, but that there is a choice and certain methods can have an effect. The question is which do we choose because each has advantages and disadvantages. Strict or draconian methods can work.

Personally I'd go for the legalising option BUT with the condition that it's treated like cigarettes and not advertised even though it's legally and widely available. And the reason I say that is because I see the negative effects of gambling which imo is out of control, and I'd worry about the same effect with legalising drugs.

What about alcohol? Do you include it in the same category as other drugs, or is it different because it is legal?

I'd include alcohol but maybe put a watershed on for advertising unless there's already one there.

Legalising is one thing but trying to create a responsible approach to having it needs to go hand in hand with that. There are some really scary stories coming out of U.S. states which have legalised cannabis. Imo a result of a combination of the lure of revenue coupled with a complete lack of promoting its use responsibly.

Portugal have done pretty well out of it.

Legalisation of cannabis is inevitable I’d say. It shouldn’t be difficult to regulate it properly, and divert some of the tax revenue toward education about it’s dangers.

Opiates and cocaine might be a bit more problematic. The fact remains though, that prohibition doesn’t work. Forget the moral arguments, it’s just utterly impractical
 
I’m watching master chef and it occurred to me that trannies are the equivalent of a bloke doing a black face.. this **** they keep calling she needs shooting. Probs by a black man. Or a white man with shoe polish.
