BBC One and Two hire four different voice-over announcers each – one for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland- to introduce upcoming programmes, all of whom read from the exact same script at the exact same time from early morning until late evening. The only difference is the accent.

There's an interesting report recently published by the Creative Diversity Network, showing us how various groups are represented on TV as a whole (not specifically the BBC).

Seems that the over 50s and disabled people are under-represented on screen, while we see nearly twice as much BAME and LGB representation on TV than we do in the population.
Off screen, it seems women are slightly over-represented while LGB are again, doubly represented in TV than in the population and the over 50s and disabled are under-represented.
