12 names mentioned in the OP and not one makes me sit up and think... YES!! With the furore over SB, and the perpetual digs by some over his roots, can I suggest to them an out of work manager, PL experience and a SAFC supporter.....................

    Phil Brown anyone....?????

I like the way Poyet plays football - His Brighton side get the ball down and pass it around - Don't want MoN no matter what after what he did to Villa (after he spent 80+m already then complained that he wasn't getting any more money - so he left at the end of the window!! Not exactly loyal

Hughes and Poyet would be the only 2 I would consider from that list ahead of Bruce (Ancellotti would be too expensive and we couldn't affod him)

  4. Has Bruce suddenly become a bad manager? Surely not!

You, like a few other teams, have had an unlucky start to the season, and results have not gone your way. Bruce is a victim of fortune, and he shouldn't be punished for that. He deserves at least to the end of this season.

Agree threads like this are drivel and have no meaning because Bruce has the backing of Quinn and Short, jsut because a few people on here arent happy with him it doesnt mean he will be sacked, they account for about 1% of Sunderland fans opinions so in the scale of things its meaningless.

If Bruce was sacked then yes this thread would have reason to it but for now nonsense.

Although I'm a supporter of Bruce, I think you are wrong on this score..Rather than being only 1%, I feel that, just like on here, there are a substantial percentage of Sunderland fans in the wider community at this present time who would be happy if Bruce was sacked..I'm also just as convinced that if we had a good run of results that would change..Just like in politics, things can change very quickly in football, and that is why I'm pleased we have representatives to make decisions regarding our club, because if it was solely down to the fans opinions we woluld be changing our managers on a weekly basis.

Best post on this whole topic.

If we sack Bruce we will get another Wilkinson, just like when we sacked Reid. I would have Moyes tomorrow and would not be unhappy with MON but it aint going to happen not in a month of Sundays.

Just like all this sacking Bruce talk, its not going to happen. They will give him till the end of the season IMO unless it looks like were really going to get relegated. Bruce will say he needs the chance to replace Gyan and that as long as were in touch with the top 10 by Jan he can turn it round. IMO Quinn will give him that opportunity in Jan unless were rock bottom. He will then have to give him until the end of the season to see if once Bruce has his new striker it works.

In my view I am not happy with Bruce or the performances of late, if MON or Moyes were possible I would want them. If not I think we need to give Bruce until Jan and then until the end of the season. No kneejerk reactions, no making hastey decisions. Were in for a transitional season I feel, Bruce had a 5 year plan with Quinn as long as at the end of year 5 we are in the top 6 where we are now is just part of the journey.

El Tel could do a job i think, but Poyet would be my choice, he is a very driven and focused guy.
