Been to Port de Pollença a few times as Mrs No7’s sister has lived there for 30 years as a singer.
We don’t speak though now (Mrs No7 and her sister...a very long story involving inheritance) but did love Mallorca.
The infection rates in Florida and Texas have shot up...at least in part because they have a President who has encouraged people to consider Covid a political issue....especially with regard to the wearing of masks. Crazy.
It’s never a good idea to have a comedian as leader in a crisis. I think we’re learning a similar lesson over here tbh.
Especially a comedian who doesn't make you laugh..
You couldn’t even make someone like Trump up...however not funny when you think he could be re-elected.
Even worse than Trump are the millions who persist in supporting his every move. There was a good example the other day, when one of them was being interviewed and the interviewer mentioned that the USA is a democracy. “Democracy? No way, man, this is a republic.” I despair for the children of America.
Most polls show the younger generation doesn’t like the orange haired one or his policies. Our only hope is that we can return to being part of the global community once they decided to use their power to vote and change the country. Until then I’m afraid the middle age and older, I only care about me group will keep winning enough elections to keep us in the mess we are in.
I feel for you MI, and all the other non-Trumpians. Please, for your own sakes, as well as the rest of the world, hang in there and make sure Biden wins. By no means will you be out of the woods but it’s a very good step in the right direction.
The good news is that older voters also support Biden by a substantial margin. It turns out that "sacrifice Grandma for the Dow Jones" isn't all that popular of a position with Grandma.
My parents have certainly turned on him. They live in Florida and they are tired of the governor and president not taking it seriously. Obviously they are tired of being stuck in the house for 3 months already and it appears many more months to go.
As an oldie (70 next month) can I just say that I’m glad it affects us more than the very young. Not that anyone’s life is disposable, but better us than the babes.
