On the subject of our piss poor "world beating" test and trace Boris said to Starmer that all countries test and trace aren't working and challenged him to name ONE country that has got it right. Starmer stood up and said "Germany" and sat back down. Boris said to him "Why are you interrogating me like a lawyer?" Starmer replied "Because I am a lawyer". Priceless. Like a cat playing with a mouse before the death blow.
It depends on which side you are looking from. Starmer is a fence sitter. A clever bloke alright, and one who has calculated that if he keeps out of everything, says nowt, then he can later say "I told you so" even if he didn't. But he has already three times asked a question that had already been answered in the preceding moments, indicating he is performing by numbers. Much like May in that respect. Incredible to say it, but she is actually extremely bright, as is Starmer, but they both appear to be unable to think on their feet. But in any case Starmer will have a lot to occupy him with the ferret fight coming up in the party. Sacking a left wing darling, albeit correctly and one as thick as a fence post will have brought him more enemies than he needs.

Oh really. I remember him slamming Dominic Cummings and saying that he would have sacked him and then turning a blind eye and sacking nobody from his own party for doing it. I still maintain that the ‘protecting child abusers’ propaganda which will be played before the election will be enough to keep him out of number 10.
