Just been on cardiff player to see about there injuries for the game, good news for us,Conway is out,Earnshaw is out and the striker that came on to replace Earnshaw against leicester is out, still a doubt over Mark Hudson as well.I know we shouldn't concentrate on other teams misfortunes but it's a huge bonus for our game 2moro night as they are literally down to the bare bones. Can't wait to get to Cardiff! COYR!

Control the controllables, as Nige would say. But of equally interesting note is that they have sneaked up to 6th place with just 3 wins, at West Ham on day 1 (yes good result) and home to the current bottom two clubs.

I can see a possible 451 formation for Cardiff so I see very little threat from Cardiff.. Touch wood. I reckon there well drilled so a 2-0 victory to us with lallana and fonte scoring

Absolutely. This is another game where we see the point where Saints have progressed to. A win or a draw would be astonishing, because Cardiff will be well up for this game, I've no doubt. Cardiff are one of the bigger teams in this division, and they will feel they should be up there, beating promoted sides, whatever their pedigree.

    Cardiff fan.

This will be fun, god knows what we do if we get injuries in the game too...we have some first year 17yr olds as cover. I assume you will be taking it easy you can afford to drop three points we can`t.

Now is the time to see whether our team can battle it out.

Let's not discuss them. Saints used to be the team you wanted to play if your form wasn't up to the mark and you'd got injury worries. Nige has worked on changing that, but memories of that humiliating defeat at Rochdale last year when we thought we were invincible still linger. I'm sure Nige won't be talking about injured players but focussing on how we are going to play. Unusually I now travel with more expectation than in the past but it'll take the Cortese miracle a little longer to purge over 50 years of having optimism dented before I travel to a game like this genuinely confident. Lucky underpants and unwashed shirt are on, and I'm ready to roll (the underpants are clean, so don't worry about standing too close to me tonight!).

They still have some quality players that are fit so it will still be a difficult game - Whittingham will be their key player

Totally agree - given that we are surprisingly still top of the table following results last night, and the Cardiff injuries, on paper this is a golden opportunity to pull away slightly. But it is these sort of games that we would historically go on to lose and waste that opportunity. Although it seems those habits have been broken to a degree, long term experience keeps the optimism in check!

Looking forward to it though, setting off at lunchtime, hoping to enjoy a few beers Taff-side in the the sunshine before heading to the ground!

Hey folks, Cardiff fan here.. you really have struck gold in the timing of this match. i would have predicted a pretty tight game prior to our 2 games v Leicester but with all our injuries and having had some of our players play extra time and pens mid-week last week you could be in for a fairly comfortable ride, especially with your current form/momentum.

Chances are we'll go 4-5-1 although that was the formation we played at Blackpool where we pretty much mullared them for the 90 mins all bar a wonderous goal for Phillips...

Saying that, Conway who played in that game is also out so it may not prove to be as effective going forward...

Have a good journey up but I hope (he says whilst praying to the football gods) your return is a miserable (but safe) one!!
