Jim Waterson, media editor at The Guardian (I've met him multiple times, good man), sums it up perfectly. There's the other thing - The Athletic is a paywalled site! The majority of people would NEVER have seen these allegations because people don't pay for journalism anymore! The Allams have just given everyone all of the incriminating evidence for FREE. BUSINESS GENIUSES!!!
So is McCann just a yes man?? He came with a tough no nonsense reputation - he’s complicit in this shambles. At least Steve & Nigel stood up to Ehab
Wouldn’t you love to be one of the office staff at Hill City today. You could kick Eham in the bollocks to make him feel better.
Yeah exactly the point I made, they've just released more than The Athletic would have published and they've made it free for all to see. Utterly bizarre.
The funny thing about Hull Live being banned is that, while most of the stuff in the HDM is pretty bab, the sport section was the one shining light!
I don't think so. He's proved himself a crap manager, out of his depth, as stubborn as the Allams (ok, not quite) etc. But he's just the latest in a long line to be shafted by the twats. Should he have known better? Is he niaive? Probably a 'yes, without much doubt'.
To be honest it’s awful to say it, but does anyone care if we go down any more. The faster we drop the quicker these the idiots might leave? There’s one thing for sure they aren’t very good at this chairmen lark. The reason we had the most successful periods was because they weren’t running the club, they just allowed the fund to be spent by people who knew what they where doing.
They deserve to be banned in my opinion. They are a bunch of egg worshipping paper pirates who have never had a good word to say about City. You reap what you sow. Good riddance as far as I’m concerned.
I have not given a **** for a long time. I’ve attended maybe 5 games since the play off final, and this season probably watched 2 or 3 (attended 0). I even opted to go for a walk on Saturday instead of pay a tenner to watch the game. Due in part to the fact I had forgotten all about it, but once I’d realised I didn’t even bother to check the score til I got back later in the evening. Shows just how far city and football in general have fallen in my list of priorities. In fact I am certain I have watched more England games than City in the last few years.
Further to my earlier post on this thread, I do believe papa wanted to sell. This period, Peter Grieves, coincided with Assem being very ill (seriously, hospitalised?) and all negotiations were conducted by Ehab. Finally, as the article refers to, after many missed meetings, delays in providing requested information, a sale price was agreed. Lo and behold, Assem attends the signing off, and asks 6 million for the SMC. Oh, to have have been a fly on the wall at that moment. Shortly after that meeting Peter Chapman was told he and his money were no longer welcome at the club.
The response from the club (well, from the Allams) states "This period in the Club's history has seen the Club and it's team rise to heights never before achieved". Just to remind that such statements from the Allams are incorrect. The club reached joint top of the PL under Brown(io) and Duffen, that's the highest height we've ever been. And to my mind, the greatest achievement was also achieved under Brown(io) and Duffen, in May 2008. And then there's the small fact that we are now (alledgedly) £50 million in debt, and on the verge of relegation to L1. So **** off Allams.
I care as i see us as a more saleable club in the champo than in league 1. Though in all honesty, I can't see anyone coming up with the ridiculous numbers they're quoting, and whilst they can slash the budget year in year out and take a big interest payment they don't need to sell
