Increasing numbers of Houston residents have reportedly been diagnosed with COVID-19 after attending protests against the death of George Floyd.

Large protests began in the city days after the death of Houston native Floyd, an unarmed black man who died while police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25. Texas has been experiencing a surge of new COVID-19 cases. Harris County, which encompasses Houston, has been adding hundreds of new cases each day to the more than 17,000 total confirmed cases reportedas of Monday.

There are massive spikes in some US states, I'm watching CNN right now. I never realised how anti establishment some Americans are, they simply refuse to wear a mask, that might save their life.

At the upcoming Trump rallies, organisers have stated that, it is your own personal decision to wear face protection.

The outbreak in Xinfadi market is a worry,

They don't mess about in Beijing though: sealed off part of the city. LIke proper lockdown everyone is quarantine.

27 other areas under a stronger lockdown than anything we experienced in UK: registers, temp checks, etc.

Everyone near the market tested straight away.

And cancelled all inbound/outbound flights on Tuesday as soon as outbreak started. No non essential travel in or out of Beijing. Schools etc closed immediately. No messing.

I wonder what our laboured response will be to an outbreak

There was a report local to me that deaths had gone up, not saying it's the case with what you are saying, but a number of people all over faceache jumped on board to have a go at the protests... sadly they don't do science, the timeline did not fit at all, and when the deaths occurred a tangible explanation for the rise was in fitting with the VE day celebrations

There’s a massive paranoid population of right wing trump supporters in the US that believe (aided by Trump) that a ‘deep state’ is plotting against him and wants to take away their guns and rights etc.

The paranoia runs so deep that even scientists working for the govt are treated with suspicion by trump and his cronies and their messages about coronavirus were seen as part of the conspiracy to undermine trump. Remember he called it a ‘Democrat hoax’

as a result there’s probably millions of Americans that now see every criticism of Trump as part of the ‘fake news’ conspiracy, and wearing masks is just another incarnation of this paranoia.

Dry cough and really sore throat but my ex and lad showing mild symptoms too and I had him Sunday.

I'm 99.9999% sure I've not got it but I really can't stay in for a week with moving and got some work stuff to do Monday too so will be nice to get evidence.
