It's stuff like not having to worry that your name sounds a bit too "ethnic" on a job application. Not having to worry too much when you get pulled over by the police. Not having to second guess whether the neighbours might be hostile when you move to a "nice" area. Not having teachers who expect you to fail, or who categorise every daft mistake you make as a fundamental part of your character just because of the colour of your skin. Not having people look at you sideways in crowded streets in case you're up to no good. All the time. Because pigment. Not having to grow up in an area which is considered a ghetto because that's where your grandparents could afford to live in the 1950s. Not having to deal with shock from everyone you encounter if you manage to overcome the fairly heavily stacked odds to make a success of your life. Or if it's not shock, the assumption that you must either be a rapper, a drug dealer or a footballer, because what else can black people do, right? (I nicked the last one off Marcus Rashford- don't shoot me).

And most of all, the privilege of not even having to be aware that this is what our country looks like to about 13% of the people who live here.

I'm very white by the way, but live in quite a mixed area. Which I love.
What about black perivilage then, being able to walk down any road without getting murdered for your colour, if your white try walking through Harlem, East LA, the Bronx, or in the UK, East London, parts of Luton, Rochdale, and Oldham without getting set upon. If the police pull you over, try giving them your documents instead of abuse, fighting with them, went school with a fair few Blacks and yes about 50% of them are drug dealers, compared to a few % of white people I know, that's not a privilage it's a choice we made. Not having teachers who expect you to fail ? You do know that Blacks are doing better at school than whites don't you ? As Denzel Washington said being Black is used as an excuse for failure or not trying, the USA has had a Black president, successful actors, many Black people are top of the ladder in sports and many many things, Britain is probably the most diverse country in the world, where if you work hard you can do well, ask the thousands waiting to sneek in at Calais, do you think they are trying to get here because they want to be oppressed, when they do get here, they get given accommodation, benefits while white locals get the perivilage of sleeping on the streets, go to Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Jamaica and as a white person ask for accommodation and benefits and see what you get. Of course there is some racism, but go to Black dominated countries, and you will see, it's as bad and probably much worse against whites.
Try hard, work hard, and racism won't hold you back, sit on your bum doing nothing, and racism ;) will stop you getting on in life.

I'm sorry but you do talk a load of *******! Oldham is 77.5% white. I've been to Oldham, Rochdale etc plenty of times, they're not the nicest places but I've never been murdered or set upon. :emoticon-0140-rofl: What kind of world are you living in. Jesus Christ there aren't half some exaggerating snowflakes on here.

History doesn’t mean we have to glorify its villains or display offensive items like statues and flags that are symbols of oppression and murder to segments of the population. Put them in museums and places of learning so we can learn about the evils of history and lessen the numbers of those who would do the same again.
Slave traders maybe, most of the others, aren't symbols of oppression to the majority of the country, if you don't like it, go live somewhere else, if I went to live in Rome, I wouldn't tell the locals to remove Roman statues because they oppressed Britain and took slaves. It's there history, should we vandalise or tell them to bulldoze their great historical buildings, because a lion probably ate a few Britons there ?. Let's bulldoze the pyramids ay, they were built by slaves.

Read it again, I said murdered in areas of America, and you can get set on in areas of England, there is area's which are no go for whites where you would have maybe 50% chance of being set upon, just because you've not been there, doesn't mean they aren't there.
Driving through Oldham Town centre isn't walking through the area's I'm on about, which I doubt you've done, so you're talking bollocks.

This is the root of the problem chesh. You appear to see them as outsiders in your country. They see themselves as citizens of it.

I know exactly what you mean, Mass baby. I'm a pom and have had to put up with this **** for nearly fifty years. Does anyone care? Buckley's they do.

do you live in a ghetto with other poms, identified by police from your pink sunburnt skin and Union Jack shorts?

Many do see themselves as Citizens, they are born here and are citizens, if you come to a country, you accept the laws, rules, History, you don't go there and say right now change everything to what I want.If you don't like the way the country is, then don't come here.
After all, isn't the Statues thing about people going to their country and changing things ? So that's wrong, but it OK for them to come here and do it ?

So ...don’t live in a democracy and have an opinion?

How long do you have to have lived here to get the same rights as the ‘nationals’? How many generations?

Mob rule isn't democracy, they can become MPs and vote to remove things any time they want, and if they get a majority do it.

you haven’t answered the question

No one is advocating mob rule and I don’t think anyone is defending the actions of some of the protesters.

I've been all over different areas of Greater Manchester. If you can provide me with proof that there are streets where 77.5% of the towns population have a 50% chance of being set upon then i'll gladly admit I'm wrong or is it more likely that it's one of the 87% of stats that are made up?

If they are citizens of the UK they have the same rights now, mob rule, and vandalism and attacking police, isn't a right any of us have.

Forget about the mob rule.

I know what legal rights they have. I’m asking you at what point would YOU no longer see them as ‘coming to a country’ and trying to change things. As opposed to being from a country and trying to improve things.
