Hi all..just one bet for Sunday:

    Goodwood 3.55pm Emissary 13/8 win.

Won his race last season impressively.. The front two pulled quite some way clear of the rest of the field. Get the impression that trainer believes this is a serious derby contender. Small field which makes it a bit trappy but James Doyle is on board and no one is riding better right now. Big chance.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Pathetic. Trainers champing at the bit to get racing again, piles of unraced 2yos, good ground and you get 9 runners (4 and 5) in the first two at Doncaster.

Ew Lucky 31/Acca for me today:

    2:00 Doncaster - Encore D'or 8/1
    2:35 Doncaster - Copper Knight 4/1
    3:00 Leopardstown - Twilight Payment 9/4
    5:15 Leopardstown - Miracles In May 5/1
    5:45 Leopardstown - Kokura 9/1

And as Pops mentioned above James Doyle riding out of his skin at the moment and he has 3 rides so small treble on those.

Some very small fields across the meetings today with Royal Ascot two days away; but why can these trainers with lesser lights in their yards not find something to run when they have been complaining about lack of opportunity in the rescheduled fixture list?

Mark Johnston does not normally mess around when it comes to sending runners to Goodwood and MRS BOUQUET, the only three year old in the race, looks a worthy favourite for the Cathedral Stakes at 2:20. Winner of four of her six starts as a juvenile, Joe Fanning will probably be out the gate and gone with the elders getting a rear-end view as none of them appears to have consistent form at this level so the three year old should improve past them.

That old saying about topweights in three year old handicaps points to Johnston’s Tulip Fields in the 12:35. It has never been out of the first three in five starts but never been in the first one and makes its handicap debut. Is it thrown in?

Julie Camacho's stable in nice form since the restart of racing. This one looks good on pedigree. Could suprise at a price.

With Jessica Harrington's yard hitting a bit of form I've gone for two of her runners in the Listed events at Leopardstown today.

In the Saval Beg, I've went for the ex Aidan O'Brien trained Barbados 7/1 who will appreciate the return back to 14f. He's still a young horse and hopefully will find the improvement to trouble the front few in the market. Whilst in the Noblesse stakes I've sided for Camphor 7/2.

    Have a god day folks.

14:55 Goodwood - Air Force Amy

(Can't remember who it was but someone on here advised that Mick Channon's horses were very fit and some were 'flying'! So, a modest win bet on selection at 4/1 (seems to be drifting a bit, never mind). James Doyle riding very well at the moment, so that's a plus. Should be well suited to distance and going.)

Well Sottsass managed to win the weak looking Prix Ganay at odds-on today but you wouldn't be rushing to back him for the Arc based on today's victory.

Cut to as low as 14/1 for the big race Sottsass prevailed by only a head from Way To Paris. The runner up would not be in the mix for a war medal as a 7YO colt whose most recent win was only his second success in what is now a 25 race career.

Shaman had won when he last met the 1-2 today but had to settle for 3rd place some three lengths adrift this time.

In the Group 1 Prix Saint Alary it is hard to oppose Solsticia. Only a maiden winner last time, she did do it very nicely and the runner up Ebaiyra went on to win a Group 3 next time. More importantly the best form on offer so far is from Magic Attitude, who upset an odds-on shot to land a Group 3 last time. That race has not worked out well since and that makes it easier to believe that Solsticia can make the leap from maiden company to win what looks a Group 1 in name only at this stage given the form on offer.

I picked Solsticia and put her in a double with Night Hunting in the 2YO race later on. Night Hunting only landed a claimer last time and she has joined a trainer a bit out of form but she slaughtered her field over course and distance last time, pulling clear under hands and heels to win by six and a half lengths. Two horses have come from that race to win since, albeit in claimers, and beating future winners so easily suggests that Night Hunting may go well in Listed class. There are several winners here who could be a danger but I thought Night Hunting represented better value at 4/1 than Giulio Cesare at half those odds.

    3.25 Chantilly Solsticia 13/8
    4.35 Chantilly Night Hunting 4/1

    Win double.

    I've done the trick again.

I mentioned last night that Dernot Weld had saddled 43 consecutive losers. 1st race at Leopardstown today and Eldama wins it, trained by one DK Weld.

Barbados drifts to 18/1 at the off and runs accordingly. They knew. Shame I didn't.
