Yeah the economy might have tanked if the Tories hadn’t won.

You know how events that are now classed as history are written by the ruling classes right??? Well.... believe it or not they might not give a full and well balanced account. Over years more information becomes available, accounts and details not really wanted by those writing what is now history. So it was the original accounts which were most likely to be written to make people feel good.

There will be many ex army veterans as well. Maybe they will be getting abuse from a load of idiots trying to destroy national monuments and attacking the police?

That’s just incorrect though Wills.....History (especially modern history) is written by people who were actually witness to these events....eg 2 World Wars.
Maybe if you talked about ancient history you might have a point but not modern history

It’ll be like a modern day Dad’s Army with the role of Pike played by a pissed 55-year-old Millwall fan.

Ok so as it's in the news, lets look at the slave trade, do you think that the original history books held the accounts of the salves? No, not so much, a lot of those accounts didn't come out till years and years after the events, and the accounts of history were adjusted accordingly.

Ok lets look at modern history then, believe it or not people do tell a few porkies here and there, full accounts are not given. You only have to look at the media channels today, people calling bias all over the place.

No denying any history book will have some kind of spin in it because as I said before, it’s a very subjective subject.
However I still ascertain, your first statement is plain wrong.

Well you know (probably most on here as I have mentioned it enough) my Mrs friend (who she grew up with) was killed in Afghanistan leaving a wife a 2 young kids. He died stopping a bunch of 2222's planning bombing attacks in London. It would be a different story if any of your or my loved ones were ever caught up in an attack?
The most gutting thing was firstly they couldn't tell his wife and then she couldn't tell the kids and his own family because the mission was still active. They were on TV collecting his medal and the story was well documented. The mission saved many lives in London (which they know was planned target).
So when I see Tarquin and Rupert defacing the Cenotaph it erks with me because brave people like him gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep those idiots safe. So I say fair play to those football fans and army vets protecting something that means a lot to the huge majority of the population.

Right you've said that historical text will have a spin on it, that can even be put upon personal accounts by the way, however the more accounts the more information, the more evidence that comes out can surely only put a fuller picture on historical events surely. So how the hell can my comment be plain wrong? The accounts of people in regards to modern history will not suddenly disappear, they will be documented, I really don't get your point it really doesn't make a lot of sense.

You said that history was written by the ‘ruling class’......that’s just plainly wrong Wills....even you can admit that. That statement is an untruth.

    Going to bed now x

Ohhh maybe ruling classes was not correct, but the 'winners' ??? Anyway, certainly those who might not give a full account and may not give a full account. I should have picked a better term, but the amended point still stands
