When I lived in Stokey the arty hipster crowd were just starting to move in. Now they’ve taken over completely.

I’m a bit of a Guardian reading poncey bohemian myself, so I shouldn’t complain. But I liked it better when it was full of Paddies with hands like shovels and faces like hams, rastas shouting at bus stops, betting shops full of chain smoking Jamaicans swearing in patois, all that.

Nothing stays the same, unfortunately. Even the Yids in 17th century fancy dress are leaving, moving out to Canvey Island apparently.
