i ll be going for the bus home shortly,so i d better give my verdict for the listed heat at naas 5 35 now:

sceptical looks primed for a big run,but its a step up in class for him,whereas FOREVER IN DREAMS has already been gone and done it on the big stage,twice at ascot last season,at the royal meeting and on champions day,running big races every time.so,if the drop back in trip doesnt inconvenience her too much,she should be bang there this evening..

We had a Caravan on one of the sites at RHOSNEIGER so just
because of that I'm going to have a little ew dabble.

oh and money has come also now trading 7pts lower.
 
The dream dies early with Lipizzaner but I would rather lose a couple of quid for a race later on at 8/1 than join the mugs wading in at 4/6.

Aidan's other horse Baton Rouge was a market positive this morning but drifted right out to 33/1 and ran like the negative move suggested way down the field. You used to be able to set your watch by these O'Brien horses on their second start but Lipizzaner has not made the forward move you would expect for a colt his trainer was talking of as a Royal Ascot sort. I would imagine another maiden will be his target now. Saxon Warrior's half sister More Beautiful had pissed up in the opener at decent odds as well, making Lipizzaner all the more disappointing. The market vibes on the track were not as strong as you would have expected given the morning move and the stable winner in the first race though. Lipizzaner was removed from the Coventry betting by all but Unibet, who somehow managed to cut him to 6/1 ffs. You wouldn't really be in a hurry to back Bolger's Poetic Flare at 10/1 for that race given that he only bested Lipizzaner by half a length last time.

More Beautiful was made 3/1 favourite for the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot but that is a bogey race for O'Brien and he's never won it. I thought she finished strongly today and I always feel that a good way to get a horse beaten is to take on real speed balls at 5F. With that in mind I decided to play her for the Albany Stakes over the 6F at the Royal meeting. Her price today didn't represent maximum stable confidence, so I assume there will be better to come. I find it hard to believe there will be a better candidate seen between now and Royal Ascot so I will risk a bit at 9/2, trusting that the trainer aims her there. Seamie Heffernan said:-

Half brother Saxon Warrior won the Racing Post Trophy as a 2YO, so I can't see why she would need to stay at 5F for her next race and, long term, I don't like to see horses with Classic aspirations for their 3YO career staying at 5F for more than one race. We saw it with Raffle Prize and Millisle in the Guineas, with both speedsters at 2YO running dismally in the Classic.

Call me a mug but I think it's worth a bet at 9/2 for the Albany.

Well done everyone who stuck with him, he looks set for a grand season.

Forever In Dreams was a disappointment. Perhaps she is best with some cut in the ground. It was pretty desperate ground when she was 3rd in the Champions Sprint at 66/1. That looks a bit of an anomaly judging by today's effort.

Sergei Prokofiev was poor today and you would have to wonder if his best days are some way in past on today's showing.

Masteroffoxhounds at 6/1 in the lucky last seemed big for the ex Aidan horse who ran well first time last year and then went absent after a slightly disappointing second run.

Zuba in the 7.20 looks worth a bet back from a break. Amanda Perret/Jim Crowley had a nice winner at Newmarket last week.
