another inquiry will cost the public purse hence us for , as far as i can see , no purpose as everyone will already have made their minds up about that incident already .
I almost think it is now quite a useful distraction for this Govt who seem to be doing a wonderful disappearing act at present .

I agree. Bollocks to Durhamgate, there’ll be another government **** up along in an hour or two.

So today the quarantine comes in.

If anyone wanted any evidence that Patel is an absolute flute, then look no further.

14 days quarantine for anyone arriving here. Only it’s not in a quarantine centre, it’s just left to the individual. Who has to leave a mobile number and an address (honesty optional)......1% of which will be checked.
So they leave the airport and get straight on public transport and off you pop. Brilliant <laugh>

Then consider where they’re coming from. We’ve got the highest infection rate in Europe ffs, those coming in are the ones more at risk here, than we are from them.

Net outcome of this - it’ll kill tourism during the summer, as people just won’t book to come here.

Is it world class?

Get the impression that within weeks there will be so many exceptions to the quarantine rules that they will be meaningless anyway .

I’m hoping the same will apply to face masks on public transport, as from next week I’m expected to wear one for the entirety of an eight hour shift. Even though I’m not actually on public transport.

Only the decision to introduce a quarantine for incoming travellers was announced by Johnson on the 10th May.

Eh?

Did the stats from last week show the infection rate to be going down rapidly and the current numbers to below 100k, or not? Did last week stats show the daily infection rate to be at 10000 a day, or not?

You tripped out ONS data to contradict what I was saying yet there is the link in black and white backing up what I was actually saying.

But that's not now right, right?

The recent events I'm talking about are multiple mass gatherings in more or less all of our major cities across the last weekend. Which will not help the infection rate.

The discussion was about the quarantine scheme that came into force today, I assumed you were referring to that.

When it seems you were referring to that discussion about infection rates, and are now using data released a week later and are claiming to be correct about something. Right oh.

I'm reminded of that line from Baldrick in Blackadder Goes Forth when they were looking for a German spy; ""I have a cunning plan - I will go around and ask them all 'Are you a German spy?" :emoticon-0136-giggl

Out of interest, how much longer can you survive without your business running and once the mortgage holiday stops (or has it already)?

Not having a go here btw mate, just wondering at what point it all becomes a serious issue for you.
Does nobody else here make regular contributions on his Just Giving page? If that's the case then sorry Piskie but I am going to stop soon as well.

So pubs re opening on the 22nd of June apparently, seems a lot earlier than predicted. Probably only be pubs with gardens or big enough to social distance in

I was in Southsea the other day, the pubs down Pslmerston road there, are putting big tables outside the door and serving drinks off it, that were poured out behind the bar.

Loads of people standing around beering it up, obvs.

Still not 10,000 a day. You're welcome.

Although i'm sure recent events will now see to this.
My original post was 5-10,000 a day.

The stats show.
'There were an estimated 39,000 new COVID-19 cases per week in England between 26 April and 30 May 2020.'
