I'm not saying what a shouty individual is saying. I am aware that ellers and goldie are ridiculing these protests and whilst i disagree personally with that, i was asking for some hypothetical points about how to change our systemic and racist structure (depending on which fence you sit) to make it more fair and equal. Short of mind controlling everyone, within the set context of what we have where people can be racist yet not out in the open, what controls as a society/government can you put in place? what is the aims of BLM except for raising awareness because it doesn't sound that the aims is just awareness to racism as people think society isn't changing at all/fast enough.
Oh **** yeah it's more serious in the US as if a white person gets pulled over the thoughts going through our heads would be 'I wasn't speeding was I? I hope my car is all ok, what's this idiot pulled me over for'. If you are black there must be a thought of, is this how it all ends. There is still issues within the UK police force, and we need to weadle these ****ers out. emphasise how unacceptable this behaviour is. Yes vio;ence against them doesn't help, the Dibbles at the protest I was at were well mannered and there was no issues with them at all, more friendship Ermmmm the standard of living is better in the UK than certain other nations, why people want to come here, but that's going from very **** standards, to slightly less ****ter standards. Opportunity for equality for BAME is still pretty off.
I'm ridiculing the violence. I'm not ridiculing the protests but I am questioning how much of the protest relates to what goes on in the UK, and it seems not that much. We are a land of opportunity if you're prepared to get up and take it. And to be fair, a lot a black people do and do well on it. We just need more of the same.
'Shouty' I think the only 'shoutying' people are the idiots that are shouting in the faces of our police. Racism is this month's thing for Tarquin and Rupert as the Rebellion lot of gone into hiding.
Things have definitely gone down hill in the last 10 or so years, racism, well public bigotry is on the rise and more accepted, there are a number of reasons and sadly the bigots did jump on board with Brexit and saw it as a 'get rid of the foreigners' opportunity (not saying anyone who supported Brexit on here is a bigot but you have to be out for lunch not to see it did give some their voice). Nigel's posters, Tommeh and his anti Muslim rhetoric, still not exposed a single sex offender by the way, has never given a single **** about any other sex offenders that weren't Muslims, which is handy as he has associated with enough sex offenders. There are so many more and I'd have to include Boris in that, because of things he has said in the past and some of his actions make him the popular choice for Bigots. Again I will say I'm not saying that about anyone on here but if you are being honest a higher than average percentage of bigots are drawn towards him
Wow, just wow, people want better for the world and equality for all and you mock them, not a good look
I disagree. how old are you wills? I was around when we had the Brixton riots and the Tottenham ones. I was also at games where bananas wear thrown at black players (even from QPR) I witnessed Fash's abuse at Wimbledon away with 'Monkey chats' (from Rangers fans). NF magazines have been sold outside grounds (I never saw at QPR) That doesn't happen as much now (although online stuff does). Things are much better than they used to be, however sadly things happen and we as a nation have to deal with them. I find it hard to understand how defacing a National memorial in London can be connected with an Idiot Copper in the US? Some will say it does but then as you said, you are peaceful and you don't condone such vandalism.
Not a good look? Just turn on the news and see those muppets attacking the police... is that a good look?
you are lumping everyone in the same basket, for instance I very much doubt those who protested for extinction rebellion have anything to do with the violent scenes in the BLM protests
Good news the police will be charging and prosecuting those responsible for pulling down that statue.
I have also witnessed abuse of Fash, that was in the late 80s, my comment was it has gone downhill in the last ten years ago, your timeframe is off. You are also missing the issue, firstly just because something happened in America people all over the world can't stand up against it. The death of this man was the spark to ignite an existing issue that has not been addressed properly, that whilst more prevalent in certain Nations, is still an issue in others. Yet again you focus on the actions of the small minority, making it 'the issue' and ignore the rest of the protesters and what they are there for. I I've condoned these actions time and time again, I've said they are unacceptable, but repeatedly emphasised this is an unruly minority... yet you bring it up in every discussion, it just feels as though you are using the minority to ignore the majority and whilst if it was once or twice I could understand someone's frustrations, it seems as though you are using it to discredit the entire movement. Your Tarquin's comment also shows that.
