The chain of causation began when the parents left a minor unattended... which I believe would be a crime in the UK.

They are therefore partly responsible because but for them neglecting their children she would be alive right now.

If this German fella is guilty then at least it will close the book. But it irks me that the parents will not ever face any kind of charge of neglect.

It’s a crime in the UK apparently but not in Portugal.
 
Retroactively punishing the parents opens an absolutely massive can of worms. You could then scrutinise every single kidnapping and find evidence of a neglectful parent, I think people made up their mind about the parents being guilty a while ago and now they're too entrenched in their opinion.

I'm not debating if it is or isn't neglect, I just think there's really no point in going back to say "hey, we found the answer, she was raped and murdered. Congrats for that, its all your fault, you're going to jail."

crime or not. Leaving your THREE children alone while you sit 50-75 meters away having dinner and drinks isn’t the right thing to do.

What happens if he denies it and there's no actual evidence linking him with Maddie. Apart from he was in the area at that time, he sold a car at that time and hearsay based on his past.

Do they still pin it on him or do they move on like they did before.

He has been convicted on here, guilty as charged. Kate is okay, she had a child she was willing to leave alone with two others taken so has suffered enough.

Yes. It's because the McCann haters have dug themselves into such a hole they cannot see out. Comments like "he must have disposed of the body for them" just serves to demonstrate the depth of that hole and the unreality of the position they have held for thirteen years. Some are even defending a convicted **** on this latest charge, it defies belief.

When you look into the comments on this thread of discussion all it is is people’s opinions as to what they think has happened based on the information they have read.

If they form an opinion. Whatever it may be. Read some more information and change that opinion based on the new information that’s ok right?

So all these years based on the information (overwhelmingly biased towards the mccanns I might add) you can see why a lot of people came to the conclusion that they had some part in whatever happened.

Now this new information has came to light and then very same people may change their minds.

BUT it is still not what actually happened until we know.

What we do know is the Mccanns have suffered whether they are involved or not.

That MM suffered and is probably dead but that’s not certain.

That this German chap IS a *****, a rapist, a thief and a drug trafficker as he’s been convicted of these crimes.

I'm not worried. I don't think anything will go anywhere with it.

If he wasn't up for parole, this story would be a non starter.

It's amazing how many witnesses are suddenly saying they saw Maddie in a German VW camper. Where were those witnesses 13 years ago.

I think you're twisting peoples words. I hope the people who are guilty get found guilty.

This guy is obviously a piece of ****. I'm just saying it could just be a coincidence.

Likewise you seem certain it is him.
