I don’t know if you missed my point on purpose or not Beth......If I take your point then we ALL Black/White/Asian or Chinese life in a ‘white land’.....but let’s not talk demographics.

Yeah I have to treat people the same, even though it’s difficult when I hate them with all my heart. I think I mentioned once before that we had a fella who was injured after fighting with 4 ‘coons’ (his words).....I had to listen to his racist filth for 30 mins while treating him and conveying him to hospital, only for him to kick off when he saw the nurse in charge was black and it was her who would be looking after him.
Rather ironic I thought that I am married to a black woman and my crewmate is gay....I guess we just have to stay professional :(

I may have missed your point but it was not deliberate.

What I am saying is we cannot change the past, we can only try and mould the future.
That is what I am trying to do...by educating my children...and now their children.
By being the best I can
By treating all people as equal.
By living a better life where I treat all people as equal and consider, but not neccessarily always agree with their views

Perhaps the guy you helped had a small thought of thanks to the nurse in charge who helped him ...we live in hope.

Nice to see the kids so respectful on the anniversary of D-Day. Giving a ‘**** you’ to the memory of real anti-fascists ain’t the way to win people over I’d say

There lays the problem mate. The youth dont give a **** about something that happened well before even their parents were born. They live in the here and now. Social media ruining a generation, greed and power can be taken and not earned. Rule through fear rather than respect. Etc. Look at the examples youth are subjected to on a daily basis, lies corruption, greed getting you higher up the ladder. This is the society that has been manipulated to behave like this. I'm glad I'm not a teenager trying to grow up in these times. I try install real, honest values and morals in my 14 year old. It's difficult but I try.

I have an old friend from across the pond who has changed his FB profile photo to:

    "All Lives Can't Matter,
    Until Black Lives Do."

    Not bad.

It is a given that all lives matter. Or at least it should be. That is the only reason why Black is singled out for special mention. Some forget and some have never accepted that, Think of it like that and most of the dismay felt by white people should disappear. Where I draw the line is equality of opportunity should not enable positive discrimination or disable the right to make your own choices and mistakes. We should all start out equal but that does not mean we have to finish equal holding hands as we cross the competition line.

Personally not a fan of the police. There are lots of decent ones but from my personal experience there are many bent corrupt ****ers too.

Mate, until a couple of years ago I was thinking the same...in fact worse. They were all the enemies, bullies and corrupt. When the Mrs (stationary) car got hit by another (white) driver, it seemed to me that the police took the other drivers side....racist ?? I still think there was an element there.
Again when my Mrs walked around Boots with the twins in the pushchair (them being lighter skinned than her) it seemed the security guard was always following her about. Of course this was denied by the management.
However, seeing up close what the OB have to put up with, the assaults, the abuse, the harassment....I’ve changed my views a lot.
I don’t think I could stay calm with someone spitting in my face and telling me they were gonna come to me house, rape my kids and cut their heads off.....(This was witnessed by me).

The idea that we all start out equal is a nice one, but it's never going to happen. Not all kids have caring, supportive parents. Some kids come from wealthy, privileged and socially well connected families that acts as an automatic leap up. What government can do is give all kids the opportunity to move up by a decent education, free healthcare, affordable housing (increasingly difficult in an expensive city like London) and areas for sport and recreation (not enough at present). Then it's up to the individual to make something of themselves

Even that would not be bad if at a later stage when you have started to make a way for yourself that you get kicked in the teeth by a job/position you have earned by hard work is given to some one else because they are the bosses nephew, the right religion or colour, went to the right school ...or even ..............a better sex, one that might not be thinking of taking 3 months off to have a baby soon
