I think it was a combination of both, the hitler mime, taking the piss out the copper and getting clouted for it. Sort of thing Sucky would do, while i was holding a baton.

They was asked time and time again about face masks, constantly they gave the message there was no science supporting their use and every other country was wrong.

NOW!....required on public transport and required at all times by every hospital worker and visitor, ffs can they not just give ONE clear consistant message!

I'm going to keep protecting myself and using my own common sense, because I have no faith in what they say.

I like the idea that they are so vital that they are now compulsory ... well not now exactly...but in 10 days time

Can anyone direct me to some detailed info on NHS staff having to wear masks? Is it limited to just clinical areas/hospitals or are they applying it blanket?

Might decide how much I'm going to work from home in the coming weeks.

I think making the decision they now have, surely opens them up to lawsuits in the future. There are going to be a lot of relatives of victims of the virus, who can rightly argue, you didn't feel it necessary to make face masks compulsory, but now you do. Again after the horse has bolted.

The reason they originally claimed their was no medical benefit to masks was imo to avoid the public buying up stock that would put further pressure on the supply chain and make their NHS PPE shortages, even worse.

Now that more and more businesses are opening up, and the 15th also just happens to be the day that schools open more fully as well as the rest of retail shops......they know that public transport will be back to near capacity and social distancing will be impossible, so they’re making the masks compulsory to help cut down transmission.

Only due to their original lie, they’ve painted themselves into a corner. Just tell the ****ing truth and stop taking us for ****s ffs.
